1945-1946 Season Review
St. Louis finishes first overall and narrowly misses winning its first Cup (as St. Louis) losing to Pittsburgh in 3 games. Detroit’s Shutron leads the NHL in goals and points. Boston’s Lachance leads in assists. Detroit’s D-man Mathys Vielleux wins MVP and defenceman of the year. Montreal’s Vincent Tremblay is named best goalie. Pittsburgh is sold to a local ketchup company that briefly contemplated renaming the team the “57’s”. Thankfully they stick with Yellow Jackets. Strong corporate ownership here and in St. Louis will really help secure those teams for the long term. With the War over attendance has rebounded sharply around the league leading to talk of expansion. The NY Times is reporting that Philly, LA and San Francisco are all interested. With improved finances we (us and the 4 non-Norris teams ) could dig really deep and offer to pay off the Bruins debts to Norris, thus reducing his influence to 3 teams out of 8 and allowing us to control the direction of the NHL. So long as we choose expansion sites very carefully we should be ok. |

1946-1947 Season in Review
St. Louis finished first overall but it is 2nd place Chicago taking the Cup by defeating Toronto. St. Louis sweeps the scoring stats with Pittman leading in goals and St. Pierre leading in assists and points. Montreal's Justin Durston wins goalie of the year and sets a new save% record at .915. At nemolee.exe's suggestion I'll try and make contribution clearer. VOTE: Will Philadelphia get a team for the 1948-1949 season? 2 seasons from now. Len Peto is proposing to build a 20,000 seat arena on Baker street to be called the Baker Bowl. If completed will we allow him to purchase the dormant Wanderers (in real History it was the Maroons) franchise? The minor league Philadelphia Rockets are opposing the move and will claim indemnities from the NHL if we proceed. Philadelphia as of 1940 was the 3rd largest Urban Area in the US. It could be a great market despite the failures of the previous franchise. What about names? Pay for the Rockets name? Ramblers? Quakers? Arrows? Or go with a new name that has alliteration? In other news: Several NHL arena owners (New York, Boston, Chicago, Toronto, St. Louis, Detroit and Pittsburgh) are looking to make extra money by booking basketball games from the new Basketball Association of America. We doubt the sport will ever catch on. VOTE: Do we interfere with arena owners to kill the new sport or leave it be? Leaving it be could impact which cities are able to support NHL franchises in the future. |

I vote for allowing the move to Philly if the arena gets built. Its got the population and now that attendance is back up league wide the franchise should survive. Also any name but the quakers,
I wouldn't interfere with the league owners, if we don't think the new sport will catch on then the risk is small. As long as the NHL has top priority with the arenas I vote we leave it be. |

The St. Louis Eagles actually move to Philidelphia (and the new arena, nonetheless). With that, the Eagles will change their name to the Flyers corresponding that move.
Oh. For the LOVE of God, do not interfere with the league owners of the new Basketball League. Let them be. On a side note, the Americans get renamed the Rangers. |

1947-1948 Season Review
Detroit tops the standings and wins their second cup defeating Pittsburgh. Toronto's 19 yr old Kluka leads the league in goals and points with Detroits 22 yr old D-man Wood leading the league in assists. Has a new age of young talent emerged? Wood also wins D-man of the year. Attendance continues to be strong in all of our cities. After this offseason the decision on Philadelphia (so far 2 yesses) and interfering with the BAA (so far 2 "no" votes) need to be made. |

1948-1949 Season in Review
Well Philadelphia has joined the NHL as a revival of the dormant Wanderers franchise. Inspired by Edmonton's semipro team they name themselves the Flyers. The Baker Bowl Arena turns out to only seat 15,000 due to costs involved still one of the largest arena's in the NHL. We have decided not to interfere with the new basketball league. Our arena's need the extra dates. Detroit and Pittsburgh finished 1 and 2 in the standings but St. Louis won their first cup!!! (They had 4 from their time in Ottawa) With the season expanded to 56 games a new assists record was set (54) by Pittsburgh's Ron Stout. Boston's Pittman led the NHL in goals and points with Toronto's young star finished 2nd in goals and 3rd in points. 23 yr old Jerry Wood of Detroit won his 2nd straight D-man of the year award and 23 yr old St. Louis winger Felix-Antoine St. Pierre won his 3rd straight MVP. VOTE: A suggestion has been made for the Americans to re-brand as the defunct Rangers. Majority vote wins and a minimum of 3 will be required to change names. I'd originally had the Americans survive as opposed to the Rangers as they had won more Stanley Cups by decision time and I wanted to change up the original 6. However since the League was more than 6 teams keeping them as the Americans no longer seems as necessary. |

1949-1950 Season Review
Toronto finished first overall but lose out in the final to St. Louis who win their second straight! Toronto's Jozef Kluka destroys the goals and points records becoming the first 50 goal scorer with 57 and almost scoring 100 points with 94. Some how St. Louis's St. Pierre wins his fourth straight MVP with 55 points?? I'm beginning to think this award is glitched. Philadelphia's Michael Andersen holds the assist record, though he played the majority of the season with Kluka in Toronto. Montreal led the NHL in attendance in the newly expanded forum. Remember the VOTE in the post above |

I have been talking about the decision now, and my decision holds firm. The Americans will change rebrand into the New York Rangers.

1950-1951 Season Review
The New York team has rebranded as the "Rangers" but will carry the "Americans" history. St. Louis finished first overall and met Philadelphia in the Cup. Philly in only their 3rd year fell to the Eagles who won their 3rd straight cup. Kluka (Toronto) and Andersen (Philly) tied for the goal lead with Kluka leading in points and winning his first MVP. St. Louis's Toala won goalie of the year for the 3rd time. VOTE Should the NHL expand to Cleveland? Based on real events Albert Sutphin of Cleveland is seeking to move his AHL Barons to the NHL through expansion. He is well loved by his players paying them salaries equivalent to the NHL. They have an extensive scouting network and player squad in place. Cleveland is the largest Urban Area outside of California without a hockey team. They are larger than either Toronto or Montreal at over 1.3 Million people. They regularly sell out the 10,000 seat Cleveland Arena for AHL games. Cleveland has a long hockey history having fielded competitive "amateur" teams in the USAHA (the top US circuit) at the time the NHL was starting and were a founding member of the AHL. Travel to California doesn't appear realistic yet so Cleveland is our best bet to expand in the near future. Majority Vote decides. As Commissioner I am tiebreaker if necessary. If approved we will expand in 2 years (1952-1953). |

Cleveland gets a team, but the Barons are rebranded into something else.

1951-1952 Season Review
Detroit finishes first overall. But history is made when Montreal wins it's 10th Cup! Toronto's Kluka wins his 2nd MVP leading the league in goals and points. Detroit's Mullin leads in assists. Detroit's Brad Schmidt wins Goalie of the Year and their D-man Fowler wins Defenceman of the year. VOTE - remember to vote on expansion to Cleveland! |

1952-1953 Season Review
Cleveland Joins the NHL! But they have a tough transition easily finishing dead last. The Rangers and Eagles finished tops in their two divisions and then St. Louis won it's 4th cup in 5 years beating the Leafs. Toronto's Kluka led in goals and point again but somehow St. Louis's St. Pierre won MVP for the 5th time with 20 less points? Toronto's Fuson won D-man of the year and Detroit's Gallaher won his 2nd Goalie of the year award. The country of Canada gets to watch it's pros players on TV on Hockey Night in Canada for the first time! I forgot to edit Cleveland's arena so their attendance was omitted - assume the y sold out their 11,500 seat arena |

1953-1954 Season Review
Montreal and Chicago won their respective divisions. St. Louis recent 4 time champions dropped out of the playoffs. Boston beat Detroit to win their 4th cup. Chicago's Lazenby led in goals and Montreal's Wagner led in points. St. Louis's St. Pierre set a new assists record and won his 6th MVP. Montreal's Vincent Tremblay won his 2nd goalie of the year award. Our old adversary James E Norris has passed away. Children Marguerite and Bruce are fighting over control of the Red Wings and James D Norris and Wirtz have taken control of Chicago. |

1954-1955 Season in Review
Montreal and Detroit topped their divisions but Philadelphia defeated Toronto to take their first Stanley Cup! The Rangers Wallen led in goals and points and Philly's McTague led in assists. Detroit's Leon Fowler won his second d-man of the year. Boston's Durston won his 2nd goalie of the year award and St. Louis's St. Pierre won his 7th MVP despite being 6th in scoring. |
