Assuming that OOTP uses the same locations from Retrosheet, this link will prove very helpful.

Imagination is unfortunately required. Although we are all playing a text sim so imagination comes with the territory
This made me wonder about exactly what plays are and aren't in the game. It'd be nice to have a list, but I appreciate that that is unlikely for various reasons. One obvious example would be, what double play combinations are in the game, and how rare are the rarest ones?

Tangential, but I need to verbalize it. Another thread- oldtimeys, I think -alludes to the need for pbp to address positioning, and as GM, I almost exclusively watch the games. However, in instances like we're discussing here, there's no way to tell what the infield or outfield is doing without a pbp reference. I'd like, when just watching games, to have at least the position box visible (I don't have to be able to change it) so it gives me just one more element to consider when I see a play unfold.

I'm quite sure a list went around some versions ago. Maybe v10?

Edit

All the more reason to have an event tracker as The Wolf mentioned in another thread.

Thanks, I'll search for that.

EDIT: So far I've found a list of rare plays from RL (A surprising number (3 so far) of U9 double plays...)

Two of the biggest "missing plays" in OOTP are:

1. Runners on first and third, double steal.

2. Squeeze plays called by the AI.

Everything else would be considered rare, I believe. At least I can't think of any others at the moment; I did a list of them myself at one time.
