2012 CBA rule in OOTP 15

Using the new CBA in OOTP 15 - I have this question.

How does the game determine which players are COMP eligible?

I know in the player profile you can view if they are going to be COMP eligible but, what is the system that is used by the game to determine this?

I know what is stated in the league settings in terms of how the rule works but, it makes no mention on how these players are qualified for COMP. There must be statistical/performance analysis of this player compared to others?

Under the current CBA, any MLB player about to become a free agent can be offered a 1-year Qualifying Offer that would result in a Compensation Pick to the team losing that player if they reject the QO and sign with another team in free agency. If a player accepts the Qualifying Offer, they are assigned a salary that is the average of the top 125 salaries in the league in the previous league year.

The Type A and B designations that were previously determined by a relative rating of players to their peers based on statistical/performance analysis is dead and gone.

These rules are explained here. The only thing that the game *should* be considering with regards to FAs being Comp eligible is if that player has been with the team that is losing them as FAs for the entire 162-game season.

The current version has some inconsistencies in the determination of comp FA. I'm about to go into ST and I'll post any I see.

I felt like this was buggy enough based on what users said that I turned that option off for now. If it's working fine as of the current patch, maybe I'll reconsider, but I'm strangely fond of A/B versus this new system anyway.

OK so any player that is offered ARB (QO) in the game that does not accept will be comp eligible? I have seen the $ in the game change from year to year probably because of the change in the top 125 salary avg. Just still need to understand if every player regardless of performance that doesn't accept receives this Comp or not.

Just be aware that OOTP players accept the QO far too readily. This may be exploitable by some and may destroy the finances of others.

Thanks for the invite; unfortunately my dance card is full right now.

Yes we have seen this in another league where a team kinda wasn't paying attention then #BOOM 24M and 2 players later he screwed up his finances..

You always got room for a great well organized league
