AI All-Star Selection is Pretty Good. Agree? Disagree?
I was planning to manually select all-stars in my current league, then I decided to compare who *I* would pick vs who the computer selected.
I tried this a few ways: 1) Ranking what stats were important to me, then assigning point totals and 2) Just using WAR as the main guide.
In both cases, for both leagues, the batting selections were off by only 1-2 people each, and the 1-2 the AI chose instead of me weren't heinously wrong.
For pitching, its was a little bit more varied--one player I'd never select got in from the AI--but again, no more than 2 pitchers off the total.
Given that, I'm not sure I'm going to take the time to do this again, because if it's that close, I can live with a snub here and there, to save 30-45 minutes for playing games and moving around my minors.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this? I'm curious how many do extensive stuff for their All-Stars vs letting the computer pick.
