Making Colorado Great Again!

The Colorado Avalanche were once known as one of the best Hockey Clubs. The era of Joe Sakic, Peter Forsberg, Patrick Roy and the list goes on that had once made the Avalanche a fear'd name.

Since then, the Avalanche have struggled. Nothing seems to be working for them. From the 2010/2011 seasons to 2015-2016 they've only made the playoffs once, which was the 2013/2014 season where they lost to the Minnesota Wild in the first round.

Colorado has shaken things up and in for the 2016/2017 season, GM Terence will rebuild and try and make the Colorado Avalanche a feared name once again.

Trade Movements Made By Colorado
August 7th 2016 | Morning
The Avalanche wasted little time in their rebuild, as they acquired 21 YR old Jonathan Drouin from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange; Tampa will receive 25 YR old Patrick Wiercioch, 17 YR Old Prospect Josh Anderson and a 4th Rd Pick in 2017.

Drouin's 2015 season wasn't extremely promising for the young right winger, but is expected to shape up in the years as a great player. He's 5'11, 188 Lbs and is known for his Skating abilities, ability to read the play, and is an iron man when it comes to staying healthy.

Drouin Has played in 91 NHL Games in his career so far and has recorded 8 Goals, 34 Assists for 42 Points.

August 7th 2016 | Afternoon
The addition of Drouin wasn't the only move made by Colorado today, as they linked up with Toronto which seen the departure of 31 YR Old John Mitchell, 26 YR Old Joe Colborne and a 2nd Rd Pick in 2017 going to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Toronto sent back the other way; 30 YR Old Tyler Bozak and 20 YR Old Kasperi Kapanen.

Bozak has spent his entire 7 YR career in the NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs, so should be a shake to the system coming to a new team. The 6'1, 197LB Center is known for being a Two Way player and can take a Leadership role. He has Strong playmaking ability, is extremely injury-resistant, has good stamina to take on minutes if needed and is an above average skater.

In 435 NHL Games, Bozaks got 107 Goals, 160 Assists for 267 Points.

Kapanen is still an up and coming development player. He played in 9 games last season and wasn't able to crack the score sheet. He's expected to grow into a decent player, just needs the time to develop. The 6'0, 181 LB Right Winger is known at being a good skater, very durable, great vision on the ice and works extremely hard in Practices.

In 9 NHL Games, Kapanen has 0 Points
His AHL career totals are 48 Games, 10 Goals, 17 Assists for 27 Points.

Tampa and Colorado linked up again with Colorado sending Semyon Varlamov (28), rights to Will Butcher (21) and a 4th Rd Pick in 2017 to the Tampa Bay Lightning for Ben Bishop (29) and a 3rd Rd Pick in 2017.

Ben Bishop has 1 YR left on his contract and was expected to test the free agents market. The 6'7, 216 LB Goalie is known to the league as one of the better goalies in the league. He seems to avoid injuries, coaches appreciates his work ethic and has above average stamina. Bishop also loves playing in those big games. "The bigger the game, the better Bishop can perform"

In 231 Games in the NHL (w/St.Louis, Ottawa and Tampa Bay) He has 130 Wins, 65 Loses and 20 Overtime Loses. He has an average 2.29 GAA, .920 SV Percentage and has 18 Career Shutouts.
