help with realignment on MLB quickstart

I guess I should ask this before I try it... is there away to do realignment and expansion from the MLB quickstart? I know I can do expansion, but I want to realign the teams initially.

What I'm wanting to do is NFL style with 32 teams.. 2 conferences, 8 divisions, 4 teams in a division. Is this going to work, or am I going to have say the Kansas City Royals with the Atlanta Braves roster?

Thats exactly how i set up my mlb quickstart, just go to league setup then edit league structure, add a couple divisions and move the teams around to your liking.

I did a 32 team MLB myself, but after trying 2x4x4 and not liking it so much I went to 2x2x8 and it worked much better.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

I'm interested in what you didn't like about 8x4. I'm about to start playoffs and I'm going to that structure next season. Pros? Cons? Thanks.

I've done the 8x4 setup and strong divisions get really screwed over. I've seen multiple 100 win teams miss the playoffs while a sub .500 team gets in the same year.

So you have Tampa Bay missing the playoffs by 1 game after going 101-65 and then you have seattle in the playoffs after going 79-83.

I mean it happens where a division winner has less wins than a team that misses but when you start getting 20+ game gaps it seems kinda stupid imo

This does tend to happen if you stick with a 2x4 playoff structure......

I prefer to go to an NFL style playoff structure (2x6) when using a 8x4. There are still going to be teams that get screwed but its rarely more than a few games off.

The 2x6 playoff structure also rewards the top 2 teams in each league with a bye. I seed teams by winning % as well so that good WC teams get seeded properly over weak division winners.
