Editing the ammount of foreign players the game generates
Hello all! I come to the forums today with a little bit of a technical question.
I created a custom game a few days ago and set the start year to be 1980. When I was creating it, I set it up so that only a very little amount of players born outside of North America would be generated, to keep things realistic. As a result, 99% of the players in my game have either US or Canadian citizenship. However, I'm approaching the late 1980s and, once again, in order to keep things a little realistic, I want to gradually start importing more and more foreigners into the game, just like many Soviet-bloc players broke into the NHL in real life at the time. Is there any way I can do this? Can I edit the amount of players of a certain nationality the game generates every year?

No, editing them in mid-game in a custom game isn't possible right now. I think that might be something that could be added relatively easily, but even then a change as precise as you're describing (more players specifically from the Soviet bloc) isn't something that'd could be done within the confines of the way the custom game generates rookies.

I guess you could say that foreign players are by nature going to be top heavy.(star players will go overseas for the money, but depth players are more likely to play near home)
So that fact might lend itself to a house rule of editing players that isn't too cumbersome. |
