It would be cool too be able to spread out leagues throughout the year but as it stands now, sounds like everything will be in the fall.

I have -zero- interest in the NFL off-season stuff-so the ability to play year round with Custom Leagues would be a big plus because just playing from Sept- Feb .wouldn't last long if I play out 4 NFL games per week.

Completely understand that for V1 the goal is to create the best simulation of football possible. That said, I do like what I am reading about future versions allowing you to take control of DIV 1 college teams as well! I'm also hoping that future versions also will give players the ability to recreate the history of football, just as OOTP allows you to recreate baseball history (or take that history in different directions if you so desire!). I have played Front Office Football for years and that is the one area I have always found lacking, even in the newest version of that game. I realize football is a much more complex animal than baseball, at least as far as how the strategy and rules have evolved, but I'd still love to see it happen. I've always thought it would be cool to see how things might progress if the USFL had been successful in its move to fall and become a true challenge to the NFL's dominance of the sport at the pro level. Looking forward to kicking the wheels on this one.

I'll prolly keep the NFL as is, -- but ill be customizing my league to 18 games and a 16 team single elimination playoff series -- with the top 8 teams (the top 1 team in each division) clinched and 8 wild card teams. Just imagine the possibilities eeek lol, thinking about this makes me wish the game was already out. cant wait

Would be fun to resurrect my fictional MFL (Metro Football League) solo project using BTS. The MFL is two conferences of 12 teams each with no divisions. Will feature an 11 game schedule with no inter-conference play. If playoffs can be customized I'd like mine to work like this...

Metro Bowl Playoffs

The three top teams from the each conference (6 teams) make the postseason playoffs. The conference champions get a first round bye and home field advantage in the second round. The other four teams play in Round 1 and are seeded based on win-loss record, regardless of the conference that they come from. The winners of the first round advance to the second round where they meet the conference champions. The two survivors play for all the marbles in the Metro Bowl championship game.

Anyway, here are the teams...

EASTERN CONFERENCE

Gotham Bulldogs
Brandenburg Brahmas
Seaside Invaders
St.Patrick Keltics
Newport Bay Cyclones
Cape City Corsairs
Easton Barons
Dunberry Dragons
Crestfield Spartans
St.Cruze Makos
Marbro Musketeers
Jaxton Jackets

WESTERN CONFERENCE

Metropolis Monarchs
Rivermount Kodiaks
Tylerville Tigers
Midway Bobcats
Silver Bay Wolves
Oakdale Nightbirds
Gateway Colonials
Market City Tritons
Sterling Stallions
River Heights Warriors
Roxford Rangers
Bay City Comets

Hopefully, BTS will allow me to pull this off.

A 24 team league and a 16 team league. Teams will come from the largest tv markets most likely max of one team from each state selected. 16 or 18 game schedule. Haven't thought about team names yet. Really look forward for BTS dropping.

It's odd that people are including Canadian teams but are excluding the biggest CFL market, Saskatchewan. Roughrider fans are probably crazier and more devoted than most NFL teams.

Why not use the teams real names? I put the real names in bold for those I remember

I'd be looking to recreate the IFAF Champions League combined with the Big 6 for league looking like this:

IFAF Europe North
Copenhagen Towers
Orebro Black Knights
Helsinki Roosters
Carlstad Crusaders
Berlin Adler

IFAF Europe West
London Blitz
Templiars Elancourt
Thonon-Les-Bains Black Panthers
Pioners L'hospitalet
Nice Dauphins

IFAF Europe Central
New Yorker Lions
Parma Panthers
Cineplexx Blue Devils Hohenems
Calanda Broncos
Swarco Raiders Tirol

IFAF Europe East
Dresden Monarchs
Vienna Vikings
Budapest Cowboys
SBB Vukovi Beograd
Bogazici Sultans

Man, that Central division is bascially the Big 6

My Title: Gridiron Premiership Circuit (GPC)

Premier League

American Conference

North: Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Winnipeg Blue Bombers
South: Houston Oilers, Indianapolis Racers, Mexico City Aztecs, San Antonio Gunslingers
West: Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, San Diego Chargers

National Conference

North: Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings
South: Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints, Orlando Blazers
West: Arizona Firebirds, British Columbia Lions, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers

Secondary and Teritiary Leagues (if we could see more than 1 league) will have teams include the Baltimore Colts, British Columbia Lions, Buffalo Bills, Calgary Stampeders, Edmonton Eskimos, Hamilton Tigercats, Jacksonville Jaguars, Montreal Alouettes, Nashville Titans (or Strummers), Ottawa Redblacks, Saskatchewan Roughriders, Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Winnipeg Blue Bombers

Why would Houston/Dallas not be in Southwest?

If it allows a level of customization comparable to OOTP, my fictional NFL is going to start in the year 1900 with the franchises from 1990 and the 70's playoff format (3 division winners + 1 wildcard). Assuming there's a "league totals" type system that lets you adjust the statistical output, I'll set it to generate results on par with 1990.

I can say with near certainty that V1 of BTS will not feature the level of customization currently comparable to OOTP V15 or all the options you mention above.

I'll make a 24-team league (4 divisions with 6 teams in each). Schedule will be 10 divisional games plus games against 2 teams from each of the other 3 divisions for a total of 16. These inter-divisional opponents will rotate on a 3-year cycle, obviously. Either that or 6 games against one of the other divisions each season.

12 teams in the playoffs (4 division champs plus 8 wildcards). Division champs get a bye in week one.

Francis has said there won't be anything historical in V1.

But, I will personally try to create a Canadian League, European, and Asian League. I like to get a bit creative.
