Coke looked good EXCEPT FOR TWO HEART-STOPPING SINGLES.

I'll take that over two Valverde heart-stopping 2 run blasts any day though. :-)

Go Go Kitties!

I wasn't sure Delmon Young was going to be given an offer to re-sign this year, but when he gets so hot in the post season it makes me wonder.

If Martinez is healthy and back, I have no idea how he fits on this team. You can't hide four designated hitters in a lineup. :-)

That's true. I've actually thought that VMart will be trade bait now that they have Garcia.

Their outfielders next year will be Jackson, Dirks, Berry, Garcia, Boesch. DH will be Delmon. If VMart is willing to sit the bench and give Delmon off days, then they might keep him. I'd rather have a 27 year-old (next year) Young over a 34 year-old VMart coming off of a season-missing injury. Maybe.

Although, I just saw that VMart is signed through 2014 at $12M/yr. That might not be too easy to trade. Who knows? The Series is not over yet and Dave Dombrowski and Mike Illitch might have something up their sleeves. It might even depend on whether the Tigers win the series or not.

Remember they are going to have to eventually find a spot for the Castellanos kid and based on the second half of this season it looks like it will be in the outfield. I actually have my doubts that Berry is back next year. Personally, I would try really hard to see if someone will trade for Boesch. I simply don't see much upside in this guy and I don't think he will get much better than what we have already seen.

I agree on Boesch. I really like him, but he just doesn't seem to be panning out. He's another Bobby Higginson, but now Detroit doesn't need to hold onto him forever; they can get rid of him.

In the beginning moments of today's game on TBS I thought I overheard an announcer saying Leyland wants Garcia to be the everyday RF next year. How's that for difinitive?

Looks like you're WS bound... Congrats!

(though we know that even being 3 outs from being swept 4-0 in an ALCS means nothing!)

The only team I hate more than the White Sox and Tigers are the Yankees. So, thank you and congrats. Now may you lose in the World Series!

"What has happened to these Yanks?" - John Sterling 10-18-12

... They ran into the Tigers John, that's what happened.

I must have tuned into at least 100 Tigers games this season and they were a frustrating team to watch. They never really put together a long winning streak to run away with the Central like everyone thought they would. But they hung around long enough, with help of a White Sox collapse down the stretch, and are now World Series bound.

It should be a heck of a series against the Cardinals (unless the Giants have another 3 game win streak in them). My only fear is the Tigers defensive play that cost them games during the season. But this is a whole new ball game so to speak. Can't wait for it to unfold. GO TIGERS!

this isn't an a we should have kept him remark, as lord knows he wasn't exactly lights out for the Angels prior to this, but have any of you looked at the year Fernando Rodney had this yea. WOW! What light bulb went off to make this guy all of a sudden unhittable. A 0.60 ERA. Guy only gave up 5 earned runs all year. Video game numbers.

I'm just curious as to what you find to dislike about the Cardinals. There's no egos on the team, no showboating, no attitudes towards other teams/players, and no arrogance. I know I'm biased, but I see nothing but good hard nosed baseball.

Just curious.

For me it's some of their fans. Specifically somebody starting with D and ending with k.
