Sim Speed question ..

Hi, I just purchased OOTP13 (I haven't played since 10). I'm running a 26 team league with 3 levels of minors, and 92 feeder teams. So, 170 total teams.

I wanted to build some history (100 years), and started simming last night b4 bed. I was surprised to see the game still running. I am running about 15 minutes per season - is that what I should expect, or is there anything I can do to speed it up ?

2.8 GHz
4 Core i7
9 GB

No idea how long it should be taking, but here are a couple things I would do if I were starting something like that from scratch.

Disable feeders until the last 15-20 years of the sim.
Disable creation of box scores and game logs.
Make sure auto-save only happens once per year.
Turn down statistical detail from very high to high for the major league (I don't care about batter vs pitcher stats, especially from 100 years ago), turn back to very high when enabling feeders if you want them.
Turn down the statistical detail for the minor league levels until the last few years of the sim.

I don't really know how much difference those things would make, but it couldn't hurt.

Another thing that might be beneficial to turn off is the baseball card feature.

Here's another, disable all the news subscription settings. No sense generating all those emails you're not going to read.

Edit: This may not do anything, do you even receive emails if you're not in control of a team?

Here's another big one, the preseason predictions. Disabling that probably saves 2-3 minutes per season.

Nevermind again, I thought the predictions were taking that much time, but it must have been the calculation of league totals.

Alright, last one (or two).

Disable scouting until the last few seasons, this will avoid the end of season scouting updates (one for each level), as well as the January 1st majors update. At least I assume those updates don't run, I haven't played without scouting for quite a while.

In the OOTP preferences change the "Auto-play Display" to "Simple dialog", that should speed up sim times a bit.
