FA money compensation

I was wondering what the new drop down box for free agents (use *** money compensation) does.

Just as a test I put it on in a league I was in. I notice now that most players (generally the very good ones) are listed as no free agent type, a very few (not the best players) were listed as type A free agents.

I signed one of the Type A for fun, and watched the others. They got signed but did not see what sort of compensation happened between the buying team and the old free agent team.
Does anyone have more info on how this compensation is supposed to run in the game. Was just curious to try out something different.
thanks

check out last draft log and compare.

***? not sure if i am familiar with that acronym, but i bet google would have all that reference info, if it's from RL.

sounds like it's just another layer of the related optiosn -- 2012, pre-2012 or whatever etc. it needs to be there for historical stuff, even if not in a modern quickstart mlb.

so, whichever CBA (year) that's under, add that to the google search to get more precise information.

its for the nippon baseball league, and yes I know how it works in real life (quite complex system actually, just most teams take the money out of the many compensation options they have)

I am curious how it is supposed to work in OOTP, because I did not see any money changing hands between teams on what should have been compensation type players

We don't model the *** system perfectly, but try to do something like what they have. I don't think it's actual cash that changes hands, but probably goes into the misc expenses bucket. So if you want to see what's happening, have a look there if anywhere.
