Replay 1915 Season
My first season and I replayed the 1915 NY Giants.
I auto played about 100 games and managed the rest. We started out as the best team in baseball. Starting August, the Giants were up 12 games and cruising along at 60-28. I'm a genius!! At some point, we lost a centerfielder and the team stalled, going 14-14 in August, and 10-21 in September but managed to eek out a pennant finishing 87-65, .572 winning percentage. Pittsburgh was 1 game back. Philadelphia, 2 games back. Cincinnati, 3 games back. We played the Chicago White Sox who were 94-61, .606 winning percentage. They edged out Boston by 1/2 game. In the World Series, errors and lack of a solid centerfielder caused the Giants to go down in 4 straight. That means since August 1, the Giants played a miserable 27-41. On the season, Ty Cobb led all with a .377 batting average. Walter Johnson led pitchers with a 28-7 season with a 2.08 ERA. This was great fun, made all the more enjoyable with Silvam14's ballparks, which I manually imported. Those parks made the game so much more realistic. I also downloaded a picture package--I DO NOT LIKE the cartoonish Facegens-- and it really added to the aura of dead-ball era baseball. Next up, I'm playing the 1930 Philadelphia As season. Thanks for a great game OOTP19! Was a delight! |
