Any of you know how many times teams attempted to steal a base last season while losing?

I've just run this query on Retrosheet data. These are the results:

Home teams trying to steal any base while losing: 447 times
Away teams trying to steal any base while losing: 326 times

Home teams stealing any base while losing: 319 times
Away teams stealing any base while losing: 249 times

Home teams successfully stealing ratio while losing: .713
Away teams successfully stealing ratio while losing: .763

Let me know if you want any more information about this!

Number of success, number that scored, number attempted with 2 outs.

As for the steals that ended in runs, I can't do it following the method I'm using right now, which is pretty straightforward. That query would need more processing that I don't know how to do by now :/

this wouldn't be for me... but i'd include multiple recent seasons. maybe 4-6years or so... avoid the steroid years. that sample won't tell you much definitively, and the larger sample will only slightly be better.

you'd really have to delv into that data to get anything meaningful out of it. e.g. just because there is a higher pct home/away, that does not necessarily mean that being home or away was the actual cause (with that sample size, it tells nothing for sure, regardless of how you look at it).

Yeah, absolutely. I just run the query for 2015 as it was what the OP asked. Multiple season could be easily combined tho.
