MLB - Automatic expansion including cities outside of the US

Hello fellow baseball addicts,

I was curious if potentially when playing a MLB league with automatic expansion turned on, expansion teams (or relocation) would be granted to cities outside of the USA, especially to Canadian or Mexican cities. In the leagues I played cities would always be in the US, but that may be a case of small sample size. Has anyone experienced other cities?

I know I can always expand manually, but I love the system of it coming out of the blue. In RL, Montreal for me seems to be a likely place for MLB to expand to, so it would be nice to have it happen fictionally as well.

I could have sworn I remember reading about someone getting Mexico City or San Juan as one of the automatic expansion teams, so it must at least go to all of North America, anyway.

You may have to change the league region to US/Canada/Mexico or North America to get those cities, the league otherwise is based within the US and expands there only (from my experience).

I changed it to the Americas: US/Canada/Mexico/Puerto Rico, and the first two teams I had were Montreal and Ecatapec, Mexico (right outside Mexico City).

I figured it was only a matter of time until someone would raise this topic At least it wasn't until the fourth reply.
