P437: You Get a "How Sweep It Is" Achievement! And You Get a "How Sweep It Is" Achievement!

So, Singapore swept away San Antonio (4-2, 8-5, 4-2, 3-1), and Towers of the Dub still has not lost in the playoffs, sweeping Polonia right out of their way (3-2, 6-3, 3-1, 6-4). So, it's Singapore going for its 7th Perfect League championship, and the suddenly unbeatable Towers of the Dub in their way. Go Dub!

End of season update.

Topeka Defenders: Went 102-60 but ended up losing in the Divisional Series. A few key additions were made during the post-season and into the off-season. I've completed SE Lefty Gomez mission and SE George Sisler mission. Both will slot into the team. Lefty Gomez moves in as a starter and moves SE Eddie Plank to the bullpen, although I'm not set on this movement. SE Sisler will start at 1B, moving 94 Jose Ramirez back to 3B and moving Jim Gilliam to utility infielder. We go again in Diamond next season.

Missouri Legends: Finished in third place in the division at 93-69, but made it through the wild card and through the divisional round, only to get swept in the sub-league series. That means the Missouri Legends will try their hand at Gold for the first time in franchise history.

Kansas Rangers: The Rangers finished 95-68, good enough for second place. After making it through the wild card, they won the division series in 5 games, and then swept the sub-league series and are now into the Iron Level Series. They're facing the Arkham Knights. This pack only team added two key additions just after the divisional round: 96 Mark Prior and 94 Chase Utley. Both will be key pieces moving forward especially as this team moves into the bronze level. We're currently losing 1-0 in the Iron Level Series.

P437: Back and Forth

Towers of the Dub finally lost a playoff game, falling to Singapore in game 1, 6-1. Singapore also took game 2, 3-2, putting Dub in an unenviable 2-0 hole against the Sluggers. But Dub bounced back with 2 straight wins at home, 3-0 and 3-2, setting up the crucial game 5...

...which went Singapore's way, 3-2. The Dub now face the nearly impossible task of winning 2 games in Singapore to achieve their first Perfect championship. Everybody is rooting for you, Towers of the Dub! Let's go!

Everything just went right for the Raccoons this season. We won 22 straight (16 at the end of the season followed by 6 more in the PS) and then won the LCS 4-1 and finally the WS 4-1! If we hadn't gone and become whale food for 2 seasons, we'd now have won 3 straight WS (we won 2 straight right before getting clobbered for 2 straight seasons).

Maddox got his 8th gold glove and Keeler got his 3rd MVP and Hubbell got his 1st reliever of the year award (Seaver was the runner up and has 3 awards). All in all, a great season for us. With Mays on the team full time next year and one more big bat that I'll hopefully be able to add by tomorrow, the Raccoons should be even better.

After a well fought playoff the Bombers find themselves down 2-1 vs the Shockers in the WS... and I have to call it a night, early start.... I don't think there has been many times where there's a combined 18 PL Championships! It's very much a toss-up as these two teams are pretty much cancelling each other.

Bombers took Game 1 and lost two in a row, we're in Orlando hoping to take it back to the Bronx... fun fact, we never lost a WS before, this would be the first time, our perfect record is on the line!

The next match-ups are

Smoltz (BB) vs Maddux (OS)
Cy Young (BB) vs vs Hoyt (OS)
Walter Johnson (BB) vs Cy Young (OS)

and if I can push a 6th and 7th game

Ed Walsh (BB) vs Walter Johnson (OS)
Smoltz (BB) vs Maddux (OS)

May the best team win!

And the P437 champs are...

...the Singapore Sluggers, who finished off Towers of the Dub 9-2 in game 6.

The Towers of the Dub, off their first 90+ win season ever and a near championship, remind me of the real-life 2014 Royals. Here's hoping, like those Royals, they build off their surprising success and finally grab that ring in the near future!

For the Red Raiders, the success of the regular season led to the following hardware: Platinum Sticks for SS Luke Appling (136 wRC+, 5.3 WAR), RF Christian Yelich (153 wRC+, 6.0 WAR), and DH Lou Gehrig (135 wRC+, 3.6 WAR); Reliever of the Year Award for Lee Smith, his third (12-0, 1.10 ERA, 392 ERA+, 2.7 WAR), with Eric Gagne and Cy Blanton also receiving votes; and a unanimous Pitcher of the Year Award for Big Ed Walsh (23-6 and league-leading 2.04 ERA, 0.2 HR/9, and 9.2 WAR), with Walter Johnson finishing third and Don Sutton and Rube Marquard also receiving votes. Christian Yelich, Ken Griffey Jr, and Walsh finished second, third, and fourth in the MVP vote, with Appling, Mickey Mantle, Gehrig, and Johnson also receiving votes.

So, basically, Huntley won a ton of things, except a playoff game...

On to 2043!

You have pushed the Brooklyn Cyclones to the brink, leading 3-2. You have to look back at the adjustments you made late in the season to address your defense as a turning point. Whatever happens, well done!

Neuman Furshlugginers got bounced in the first round, but McReynolds (CF) and DiHigo (RF) won great gloves and Gregg Jefferies (1B) won great bat and MVP which was a big surprise, but I'll take it

Paragon City Heroes were beaten in round 2 in the end beign let down by the bullpen which had been a strength most of the year. Dykstra (CF), Cronin (SS), O'Neill (1B) all won great gloves, Gwynn won great bat at DH and Maddux won pitcher of the year behind a 18-10 3.24era record and leading the league in several categories

Bad News Bulldogs, no one won anything but we opened some (20) more packs after selling previous pulls and got ROTM Hiura, next year I'll be using a team that is locked, packed or from a collection I completed

Yep, game 7 incoming, Cy Young 100 for Brooklyn vs Walter Johnson 99 for the Cheaters. The Cheats have scored 3 total runs in 3 games in Brooklyn, so it may not matter who pitches.

It's either Johnson or Clarkson, both have been destroyed by this team; Clarkson has worse road FIP for the season, so it's Johnson to start with a super short hook.

End of Playoff Recap:

Austin Express .P420 (126-36 Lost 1st Round)

The Express suffered an first round playoff loss to the L.A. Kings, which denied me a chance to face off against the Bellevue Black Knights in the NCS, which is a test I really wanted. Bellevue on the other hand handled business and ended up winning the WS, so congrats to them, I hoped for it, but they executed. They deserved it.

Awards:

2B Gold Glove: Honus Wagner
C Silver Slugger: Adley Rustchman
LF Silver Slugger: Ty Cobb
1B Silver Slugger: Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
MVP: Viadimir Guerrero Jr. (.330/28/130 5.7 WAR) His 2nd in a row.

Tombstone Glory S.325 (104-58 Lost 4-3 W.S)

Season had some ups and downs, and some struggles thru the playoff's, but this vision of the Cubs did pretty well, and will be moving up to Gold next year. Billy Williams was the "big addition" this year, but disappointed with a .260/19/71 line from the #2 spot in the batting order for the bulk of the season. Added Heine Zimmerman at the end of year, but dropped me to 500 PP before the post season points were handed out, so we'll be looking the same for awhile. Gold will be interesting. We dropped game seven 3-2 to the Savannah Bananas, and they had a better team, so kudos to them as well. When it mattered, they got it done.

Awards:

2B Gold Glove: Ryne Sandberg
3B Silver Slugger: Ron Santo
RF Silver Slugger: Sammy Sosa
Reliever of the Year: Bruce Sutter (1-7 42 SV 2.55 ERA)
Cy Young: Mark Prior (21-6 2.44 ERA .99 WHIP 5.7 WAR) *3rd in a row
MVP: Sammy Sosa (.296/33/115 6.0 WAR) 2nd MVP

Dallas Renegades P.438 (104-58 17 GB Lost WC)- The Wife's Team

She had a great first season, but finished in third place in a loaded division. Unfortunately losing her WC game 1-0 in 14 innings. The Cincinnati Reds only allowed 401 runs all year, never seen that great pitching and defense. It wasn't enough for them against the Chernobyl Meltdowns, who beat them in the divisional round on their way to a WS victory. Hands down the best team in her league. She's looking at ways to improve her pitching staff, find an ace who is someone she feels good about if there is ever a one game playoff again. She'll be ready for the 2043 season!

Awards:

C Gold Glove: Adley Rutschman
RF Sliver Slugger: Joe DiMaggio
LF Silver Slugger: Mickey Mantle

See everyone in 2043! Cheers.

After 3 painful WS defeats, Doha finally managed to win its 2nd perfect title by sweeping the field in P404.

Meanwhile Great Lake managed to lose the WS 4-2, after winning the WC, winning the DS in 5 after being down 2-0 and winning the Sub League series in 7 after being down 3-1.

Doubledays won 119 games but have another letdown in the Perfect playoffs by losing 3-1 in the divisional series. Added 99 Honus Wagner to 2b during the season to spark the team during the playoffs, only to go 0 for 16 in the 4 game series. He is fitting in with the Doubledays playoff experience quickly.

Woodpeckers were one of the top defensive teams in their Perfect league but fell a game short of the playoffs. Added Brooks Robinson in the off season to solidify the defense and provide a needed bat.

Owlz were relegated to Diamond after an awful season the week before. They had the best record with 104 wins and took the series in 7!
