How do I start with a Standard League but draw from a Historic draft pool?
Someone must have done this if it's possible. I am at wits end though. All I want is to start with modern day 2018 rosters and draft historic players. Seems like something a lot of people might want to do.
Tried and failed methods: Enabling "Automatically import historical rookies" and "Use random rookies from all eras" after standard league creation. Gives a can't find database error at draft time. Creating a historical league set in 2018 with "hold draft" disabled and random rookies from all eras. Fills team with random rookies for you. Creating a Historical Feeder - feeder league won't run properly, too many players get drafted, the best you can do is set min draft age to 26 and basically pick up free agents in the draft but there are better ways to do that. Closest I've gotten is to create two leagues, one Historic and one Standard, and allow the Standard league to purchase players from the Historic one. But that's pretty lame. Thanks in advance for any help. Last edited by Hambil; 03-28-2019 at 06:31 PM. |

You cannot, start a standard (today) league and draft historical players.
What you CAN do is start a historical league in the historical year 2018, and NOT set it YET at the start up for players from every era (random debut) BUT do uncheck baseball history up to 2018, so 2018 is your starting year. THEN, after you have set the league up, with 2018 rosters as they were historically (on opening day I guess), you go to Rules, and set the rookies to appear from every historical era, (random debut), setting the parameters for the earliest and latest season you want them to appear from. |
