You've touched on everyone that I had listed and quite a few more Don. I so appreciate this, it saves me lots and lots of time that I had planned to fritter away in late August!

We're at the late 1750's now with all of the posted fighters. At the moment I've posted everyone I've created so far. I have a list of additional names and notes working toward 1785 and the fighters recorded in Fistiana. Shouldn't be seeing too many more of the older Prize Fighters anymore now. (There is one other family of fencers that ran an English fencing school that featured sparring that we have yet to see) There is, also, an Encyclopedia of Fencing that I may buy, just to see if it mentions any known Prize Fighters that I may have missed. The summer semester ends tomrrow and I'll be off for two weeks before Fall's faculty development week brings us all back. Should be able to finish off my "to do list" of pugs. The two weeks off isn't all that wonderful. We begin with colonoscopies for the family and also have a pending tooth extraction.

Hi Bear

I'm in the process of setting up a bare knuckle uni, this thread has been a great resource.

Cheers

Thanks, Tom
You have the files that I created. All are in this thread.
Other sources are John Dewey's posted fighters and Christopher's Royal Explorers threads.
Chris uses template files that I've found helpful to create a group that can fight on fairly even terms.
Chris also uses a spread sheet in his fighter creation. He sent me a copy a while back. Don't know how up to date it is, given his latest work.

I've got tons of files with notes and so forth for fighters I haven't gotten around to creating yet. It will take me a while to get all of it organized, but I can get it together and send it to you if you wish.

At some point during my fighter creation I opted to use "Hooks", a punch that didn't come into real use until Gentleman Jim Corbett, to reflect damage from tactics such as throws and holding your opponents head in chancery

Pre Corbett hooks

I think I've said this before elsewhere. I sort of consider pre 1890s hooks to be body shots. The alternative is to redistribute all the points for hooks in the stats to other punches which really doesn't have any affect on the game anyway. I personally redistribute combination stats but there's really no reason except for cosmetic purposes. Also, the uppercut didn't exist before 1800.

Thanks Bear for posting Barney Aaron. I've wanted to rate him for years but never had enough info to do it. (Rated his son though).

John
After my trip to Canastota I decided to rate all members of boxing's four halls of fame: Helms/Citizen's Savings, Ring Magazine, IBHOF, WBHOF. Had to dig out the Ring Magazine that treated Nobby Clark's induction to find out info about him.
