Creating a name set

Just looking for some tips from those who have created their own name sets. What process do you use? I'm thinking about making my own historical name sets for earlier baseball eras and curious about how one approaches a project like this. How much of a time investment is it?

It depends on how much time you want to put into it. You can do a lot of research and scour the internet for sources, or you can just copy some list of names and add some values. It can take many days or a few hours. If you need any help, post a request here and I'm sure someone will be able to lend a hand. We can always use more names!
