Free agent signing - says no cash from owner despite positive $$$
Hi - new to game. I was trying to sign an Intl FA today when the game told me that I didn't have enough funds from owners, but as far as I can see I have $3.5mm and so my tiny $46k contract shouldnt even make a dent. Is it because I am trying to sign a young player to my minor system? (age 16 so wouldn't be on team right away) and it says zero dollars for FA years 2+?
Screenshot below. Appreciate any help you can share! |

You have $$ for this year, none for next, so the owner is denying the signing because it will be for several years not just one. Try signing a FA for just one year and see what happens.

I don't see a multi-year contract in that screenshot.

Doesn't the minor league contract factor in?

It's a bonus + minor league contract. I was not aware that minor league deals even counted; so $46K when there is $3M+ available seems strange.

thanks for the replies so far. Indeed it is a minor league contract, my first hack at signing someone from the Intl Amateurs draft. It's my first play through of the season so I am trying to figure out if it's a bug or if it's something I'm missing - as you can see the owner says I have $3+ million available, so why would a $46,000 bonus cause the 'you have no money' prompt?

That usually shows in the available money left.
