What I dont like about the game

I have beeing playing OOTP since it started. I was a big fan of Baseball Mogul and when I found OOTP I was very excited it WAS just a better game. This new version of OOTP seems to have some great features while forgetting the basics.

1.) I know you cant have team names and player names but how come the player DATA is not real? In the past as far as I remember they had the right stats and ratings just not the names.

2.) Will the lehman database work with this version? If so how do I load it?

If they had the right player data I think this would be cool out of the box. Right now I have no desire to figure out who is good and bad. It should be clear the 3B for the Mets is awesome and young and not some player born in 1967.

The databases work pretty much like before. Only now you can pick any drive anywhere on your computer to find it instead of using the STATS file on the C drive. You just go into the Build Historic League option and follow along. Lots of different settings so it can be confusing.

SI took a conservative position and determined that, because they did not have a license with MLB, they would not even have the actual players with fake names.

I would wager a large sum of money that there will be 2006 real player rosters created by third parties in the very near future, downloadable for your enjoyment.
