International Scouting

Greetings OOTP community:

I have played OOTP14 and 15 and am pre-registered for 16, although I still consider myself new to the game compared to many of you here.

I am in the second season of a fictional league, which has been going for over a year as I play every inning, every game for one of the teams.

Overall, OOTP is about the most fun I've had with a computer - 'nuff said.

My Scout is listed as "Legendary" so I decided to give him some serious cash after last season. Under 1990 settings, I upped his budget from just over 3 million to over 8 million. Coming to the end of 1991 season, all he has come up with is eight or ten guys, and all but one is half star with a potential of half star. The one remaining has a potential of a star and a half.

Do I have to wait longer or do something else, or do you feel that a big international budget is a waste of cash?

I'd appreciate a minute of your time if you have any experience with international scouting or have an opinion on the subject. I have other questions and maybe I can ask them later. Thanks - and hey! Pitchers and catchers report in two weeks...there is hope!
