When you go to extend a contract in the game, it is physically impossible to include an option for the first year and not the second. The game won't allow it. SO, while yes, the payout should only be for the 3 years plus the buyout, unless you go into commissioner's mode and change the last two years to an option, the game is operating as designed, even if it's flawed logic.

Sort of related. When you get that message that request that you "take action" to decide on the team option, if the player has a long-term injury (and is on the IL), does the drop-down response allow you to do so? I do not think it gave me the option. Never saw this prior or at least I don't recall seeing this before.
Note, I never go into Commissioner Mode during a playthrough. |
