one year

I have a question.

I started a league with the 2016 quickstart. I decided to release everybody into the free agent pool and try to sign players as free agents. I've done this in other versions and not had much of an issue.

What I'm getting this time is almost everyone wants only one year contracts. I seem to remember reading something about an issue where everyone is only asking for one year contracts but can't find it. I don't recall if it was in this circumstance or something else, nor have I been able to find any information on the issue.

There have been a couple of exceptions but not many.

Another thing I've noticed is that a player asks for, say 16 mil. You offer them the 16 mil. then the player comes back with a higher offer. Again, this has probably been discussed but I can't find it.

Any thoughts on why everyone seems to want one year contracts?

I think it is a running glitch in the quickstarts, I'm not sure but I think there has been rampant contract problems with OOTP17.

For your second problem I'm guessing they are getting external contract offers from other teams? That is the only thing I can think of.

Thanks.

The offer explanation would make sense. I thought offers from computer controlled teams were only considered after hitting finish day.
