I got this idea for how we could add accurate walk-up songs for current players. mlb.com actually has an online database for all current players' walk-up songs. It also contains a link to itunes where a preview of the song can be listened to for free. This is essentially the snippet of the song that one would hear at the stadium.
Now, all that one would have to do is get an api key for both mlb.com and itunes to code a mod that finds the current player in the database and plays the preview of their walk-up song using itunes. The best part about this mlb.com database is that it auto updates the songs keeping everything up to date.
I would most definitely code this mod if I could, however I have no coding or modding experience. I also have no time being in college and all. Therefore, I thought I would share my idea with all of you guys so that maybe someone else would give it a shot. I mean, how amazing would it be to have accurate walk-up music for nearly all current players! Even if the player is not in the database, it could be coded to randomly choose a song from the database anyway. I believe this mod would spice up the game quite a bit for those of us who like to play the manager role.
If anyone is interested, here is the link to mlb.com's database:
