Smile TeamRater Lite for OOTPX is now available!

TeamRater Lite for OOTP11.

Just run the TeamRater Lite.exe to run the program. You'll need to export the usual six .csv's for this to work (players.csv, players_batting.csv, players_pitching.csv, players_fielding.csv, teams.csv, and leagues.csv).

I may have sold this program a little short, now that I think about it. In my haste to go to sleep while posting this, I neglected to mention that it's better than the OOTP 9 TeamRater, because it includes more weights, and more categories.

There are about 80 categories your team gets rated on. Everything from starting pitching stuff to bench power.

Also, the previous version of TeamRater took a few liberties in figuring out who was in your lineup vs. who was on your bench. There's no way from the .csv files to tell, so before I just took the highest 8 ratings from each category and used those as the lineup. That would mean that if you had a bench guy who was low contact, eye, gap, and avoid k's, but had awesome power, his power rating could be part of the lineup. This is no longer the case in this version. Instead, I take the average of all of the ratings for each batter on the team, then take the top 8 batters and split their ratings up. So it's not 100% foolproof, because maybe you're playing someone in your lineup whose average ratings are lower than someone on your bench. But I can't help that.

I get an error - "DumaUtilities has encountered a problem and needs to close."
I also get the error when I try to run the vshost app.
Ever seen this?
devTrackerX is working correctly.

You should only run the TeamRater Lite.exe file.

Make sure that .exe stays in the folder with the other files.

If devTrackerX works, then there shouldn't be an issue with the .net framework.

Anyone else having issues?

Neags23,

I am running devTrackerX in it's own directory. I browse to the appropriate import_export directory.
Can I do the same for TeamRater? Or do I need to have it in the import_export directory.

I love devTracker - it adds a lot to the game!
Thanks for the hard work!!

Yeah, TeamRater can be in its own directory, too. I run mine from my desktop, for instance.

Also, you shouldn't select your import_export directory. Select your league's ".lg" folder.

Thanks!

It's not the product I wanted to produce, but it was really too easy of a project to pass up after I found out the new way to access the .csvs.

Ok, I have run the program, and I find it damned clever. I really appreciate that it is so customizable. In fact, it's insanely customizable.

I have one issue with it.

There is no way to capture the data. What I would like it to be able to dump the results into a CSV (or XLS) file so I can more easily manipulate the data, and share it in email, documents, and forum posts.

If such a feature was added, I'd say, Holy Cow!

Dola,

After further review, I think I'll go all Eugene Church on you.

I suggest a more readable font, like Arial, for the text on the buttons. The font used is hard to read, and the color contrast (black on dark blue) is less than optimum.

Anyway, I like this one!

You can select all of the data by clicking the upper left corner of the grid. Ctrl-c to copy it. Then it will paste directly into excel.

Only problem is that you won't get the column headings. If you have a limited number of columns, though, typing them in yourself isn't so bad.

It's not optimal, but it's a workaround.

Adding in an export feature probably wouldn't be too hard, though. I'll look into it. Just so you can say 'Holy cow!'

As for the buttons... yeah, I'll never be mistaken for a designer. I probably should have just stuck with the regular, bland gray buttons with the black text (like the 'Go' button and the buttons on the Choose Columns window). But I've gotten a little tired of the sea of gray in my mods and was feeling artsy. Though, not too artsy, as evidenced by the regular buttons on the other two screens.

I'd love to work with a designer on some of these who can make these look good while I make them actually work.

I probably won't do anything to the buttons, unless it's to just make them the regular, standard buttons.

Anyhow, thanks for the feedback! Much appreciated!

That's a decent workaround. I was able to highlight everything before, but, I am such a right-click addict that I forgot CTRL C to copy and CTRL V to paste.

Now released, TeamRater Lite 1.2!

Added the following features:

*Export to csv (found under the 'File' menu)
*Load league window same size as ratings window, so you don't have to move your mouse to click next on the ratings window if you your ratings are saved and you don't need to adjust.
*Column choices are now saved when you use the program again. This is done automagically.
*A new loading screen after clicking 'Go'. This includes a pretty nifty progress bar and everything!
*Clicking on a line to select a column checks or unchecks the box (you don't have to select the line, then check the box).

I'd like some feedback on the loading screen. I think this is much better than the loading screen in devTracker2. Thoughts?

Something is odd...

I downloaded the new version.

I deleted the old version.

I extracted the new version.

I confirmed the version as 1.1.

I did not see anything new.

Here is a small screenshot.

Did you delete the entire old folder? You can't just replace the .exe, all files will have to be deleted and replaced.

Actually... nevermind. It looks like I must have uploaded the wrong zip.

Hold on a sec, I'll upload a new one.

TeamRater Lite 1.2.

Okay, sorry about that. I should have been suspicious when the file sizes were exactly the same.
