Can you have your minors run earlier/later than your regular season

Is it possible to have your minor league season run at a different time than your major league season? Say you wanted to set up a minors for the Winter Leagues (convert one to a ML league) and have the minor league for that season run earlier or later in the year. How would that work? When would contracts be up?

You can schedule season schedule to run whenever you want. As far as contracts, I'm not sure...I would bet that they expire at the same time that major league contracts do though. So, depending on when you set your schedule for, you could have minor league players becoming free agents in the middle of the season.
