The Computer is Disconnected from the Network
This is the error message I get when I try to export anything to FTP in my online league.
It is only happening to me and not to anyone else in the league. We're in the free agent period right now and it's very frustrating trying to get my offers out. What causes this message? How can it be fixed?

Not exactly sure what you're asking ...
I'm on dialup. I had no problem exporting my team or my offers through our entire first season and for the first several days of this year's free agency period. But all of a sudden it started giving me that error message in the middle of the free agency period. I haven't made any changes to my computer that I could think would cause the problem.

Is this your computer giving this message or the game?

The game is giving the message. I click on export offers via FTP, and it opens the dialog box as if it is exporting them, but almost instantaneously gives that error message.

All I can think of is that some settings somewhere have gotten changed. Might wanna check with your league commish and make sure that they are correct in the game or if your net connection has been changed for some reason.

The weird thing is, nobody else is having the problem. It's something on my end, but I can't imagine what. I use FTP all the time and never have problems. I tried manually FTPing the league server with WSFTP and it connected (though I don't know the password so I couldn't get past the password prompt).

Being stumped helping folks online it is not difficult to do because I can't see your computer or anything about it except what I am told. I am also not saying this is the case here but MANY times people "forget" to tell you lots of important stuff and wanna blame it on the game. Usually they think that the things they are leaving out aren't important(I would guess) but they can be very important facts.
So to sum it up, I have no clue have never seen or heard of that message coming from the game and have no clue why. My best guess is that some settings somewhere changed(since you said something about a virus or something) maybe the firewall is configured differently or for the first time for your company or something. I think you best bet is to check with the IT folks where you work.

Actually it is on my home computer.
Don't misunderstand me; I'm not trying to attack the game. It's just a serious problem that I can't resolve. I never had a virus or anything. It worked for a while and then suddenly it didn't. That's all there is to it. Nobody else in the league is having the problem, but we're all downloading the same file. I'm not making any changes to the file. I download it, unzip it, make my offers, and click export. I've tried deleting the existing league folder before unzipping the new file and that doesn't help either. I'm at a loss here. It even worked for the first two days of this free agent period. Then stopped working on the third.

Are you certain that the details for exporting in the online league setup match EXACTLY with what the commish has them set at?

I'm not certain, though I haven't changed those settings and nobody else is having the problem.

I have not manually changed anything. I can and do still use FTP. It's something with either the game or the server.
I've got an idea. When I get home tonight, I'll set up an FTP connection with one of my solo leagues, using my own FTP server. If THAT doesn't work, then I know it's a problem with the game. If it DOES work, then it's a problem with the league.

No, I'm not. I use plan old dialup internet.
It's so weird. It worked for the first few days of free agency. Then stopped working. Then it started working again. It started working after I attempted to create another FTP connection in a different league. That connection I set up worked, so then I went back into the online league and tried that one, and it worked too. I don't know if that was just a coincidence or what. I'm sure I was doing something differently and just didn't realize it. Oh well. I can't believe you'd never heard of that error message. Leave it to me to be the first user in history to get that.

I got this message again today trying to import offers into a league I commish.
It dawned on me that the last time I used Internet Explorer (I use Opera normally) I had been working offline. I opened IE and "Work offline" was checked, so I unchecked it and the import worked. So I thought I'd let you know this message comes up when you're working offline in IE, for what it's worth.

I've had it happen for no reason before and then work again for no real reason. Just one of those things I suppose.
