English Premiership (soccer)
Well, the season is almost over, so time to have a Premiership thread
Anyhow, I so hope United will destroy City tonight, and help Liverpool win their first league title in a millenium or so City used to be one of my fav teams, but since they are plastic I only root against them! But my favourite team, da Palace, are safe, and that`s what really counts! |

Sell De Gea, Pogba, Lukaku and Sanchez and bring players in who don't act like babies and give at least 1% more effort than said players which at 60% effort isn't too much to ask when your on £300,000 a week.

https://metro.co.uk/2019/04/25/alexi...touch-9315381/ Pogba is a frontrunner & only gives effort when things are going well. deGea was excellent until this season for some reason |

Those salaries made me weep when I played Football Manager.
But for 72% of 300,000 pounders a week I would give 72% effort. Anyone, no? It will take a week or even two until they find out that stepping on the ball and faceplanting is really the only skill I have…

City are going to drop points tomorrow, away at Burnley, (I think) so then, with two games to play, Liverpool lead them by one point...
I hope that, besides Norwich, Sheffield United and Leeds United gain promotion to the Premiership |

With Europa and Champions league both guaranteed EPL champions, United suddenly have hope of playing Champions League next year, despite laying an egg last week.
As an Arsenal fan, I hope they take three on Sunday but suddenly the 5th spot becomes much more interesting!

Well, that was a good race, but the end was anti-climatic. I was hoping for some kind of last day drama but MNC did make it close winning 4-1. This is the American in me but this is why I enjoy playoffs more even though I acknowledge that winning the league regular season is the true mark for the best team.

Yep, that was a screw up by me. I knew the rules had changed from when Tottenham missed Champions League a few years back while finishing 4th, but I was thinking that if one of the top 4 win the Champion's League, then the EPL would get an extra team, the change was that if the Champion was outside the top 4, the top 4 still get it, which COULD allow a 5th team. Need to read better!

I agree, the 38 match season determines the best team. and you have the FA cup and champions league to get your "playoff fix" so its got both |

i'll be a bit surprised if it actually happens. UEFA probly just a shade under the NCAA in how they deal with big teams that get everyone watching the tv transfer bans, sure, that doesn't stop the eyeballs from watching, but tournament bans, I just wonder.... |
