Giancarlo Stanton is 7 HR away from the All-Time Record...

...and he's decided to sign with the Hanwha Eagles of the Korean league.

I think this is a major AI hurdle for all Sports games and I think if anyone can solve it OOTP can.

Not so much for just a record, but "special circumstances" and game context (resting starters, rivalries, records, and on and on with all of the things that make sports special)

Personally I solve for most of these things but going into "god mode" where I micromanage and edit things for teams all over the league a couple times a year in order to get the game to better reflect my perception of the alternate reality.

UPDATE: Stanton got caught in one of those OOTP transaction things where he got cut, then resigned the same day, and cut and resigned again the next day. I've offered him a minor league deal to come off my bench...much less respect then he deserves but I'll at least give him a shot at the HR record.

Yeah that's terrible IMO. I believe Markus and company can fix AI issues like that. I'm sure its hard to program which records are important and which are not and factor in ratings like greed, etc. But there's almost zero chance that would happen in real life so we have to find out how to replicate that in game.

In my league, which tracks the real calendar, Stanton is now a 2-star player with power of just 13 (1-20 scale). He hit .169 in 500+ AB last year after two seasons at .249 or below.

Yeah he's reallllllly struggling for me in part-time duty, I'm gonna have to drag him along and hope he can still get the HR record. He's already emailed me and said he's retiring...

I had some guy retired at 2999 hits for me, and he was still a productive player.
