Convince me to buy this game

I have recently noticed that OOTP 18 is on sale and I would really like to buy it. I have over a thousand hours in ootp 16 and i love playing it still. I don't know if its really worth the money buying the new game. What are the features and changes made in the past two versions that have made the game worth it for you, and why should I buy it?

No offense, but I never understood these posts. Do you enjoy 16? Then 18 is better.

because fighting the globalists can be exhausting, OOTP offers a great escape.

I'm also really digging salary retention & challenge mode.

real minor leagues, real minor league players ... Negro Leagues ..... in 18.
i don't use the 3-D but it's getting amazing reviews.
just the tip of the ice-berg.
i loved 16 as well, but when the real minors were introduced in 17 and then refined a lot in 18, it's a whole new ballgame.

If its any constellation, I bought the game last week at over 40 dollars (CAN)... this week its now 20 dollars less.... I could have been awfully mad at myself and mega salty at the developers that i spent 20 dollars more on something I could have waited another week for had a known there was a summer sale in the works but.... I just don't care... that's how much I'm really enjoying this game! Its worth the extra 20 extra dollars for this masterpiece.

They added two to 16, therefore it is higher and better.

You put a thousand hours into OOTP 16 and you don't know the feature list for OOTP 18?!? I'm calling BS on that, sorry mate. Either you just came out of a binge on '16 that was so deep you should be outside breathing fresh air for the first time in 6 weeks, or you are just wasting everyone's time. Either way, buy the game (just try to be a little more reasonable with your recreational time).

the game actually sells itself. I been playing since 2001 and haven't looked back and nothing compares to this game ..... even 2 real life GMs play this game as well. (hopefully more soon)

Once you get the hang of it then you would be looking back and be saying to yourself why did you hesitate

Why do you need someone to convince you to buy the game? Man, these threads irk me. A couple of button clicks gets you all the info you could need for ootp18 and make your own determination.

If you pumped a 1000 hours into 16, you know how the game works and each version gets better so what's the question for? It's worth it

Thing is, a lot of people are conditioned by games like Madden, where the game engine and available features can and will change from version to version, and so buying the game each year is a potential crapshoot. But that's not what OOTP's like at all. If you don't like something in the new version, 99% of the time, there's an option to go back to the way it was in previous games, with all of the AI and interface upgrades intact. I've never had a bad experience with shifting from one version to the next - and I've taken a single league from OOTP14 up through OOTP17 (finally started a new league this year).

I'm all for taking a few minutes to help convince more people to continuously support OOTP.
