So these two muffins were just chilling in the oven getting baked. One of the muffins says "Damn, it's hot in here!". And the other muffin says "Holy ****, a talking muffin!"

I'd say it's because the park effects appear to not work. Seems a legit reason to me.

Nah. That can't be it. It's too logical.

I'm sure SI has a few QA testers, but there aren't a bunch. I think I have read somewhere that SI employs a little over 30 people. Considering the amount of games they have...they aren't going to have the staff to completely test a game like OOTP 2006 much further than critical errors.

Yes, SI testers are paid, thankfully.

Not to discredit the effort the volunteer QA team that OOTPDev has put forth, especially one or two individuals. But you can't effectively get the job done unless you pay the testers.

Can I pre-order the patch?

Or perhaps his point was that Kuffrey's utterly worthless response isn't particularly confidence inspiring because he is supposed to represent OOTPD. Even if this problem concerns the older (also read as current) version of the game shouldn't an official response have a little more substance behind it?

They've done CM/FM2005/FM2006 with the same (note: paid) staff and have produced a remarkably problem-free product for several years now, which IMO is an attestment to their skills considering that game series is more in-depth than OOTP by a factor of at least two.

I'm sure the game is going to need to be patched, but all games need to be patched these days. The "volunteer" beta-testers should catch most of the major problems though. I've never had a problem with any of the OOTP versions on the day they came out before.

You must have gotten one of the 'pink arrow' versions of the game.

I'm not worried, believe me. As I said, I'm sure the game will need a patch or two, but it will likely be minor bugs/tweaks.

Let me guess... you didn't buy OOTP6 on Day 1. Either that or you got a very different version than I did.

Nope, I bought it on day 1. What do you think was so horrible about the first version?

Oh, good! I agree.

Now, what should we do about OOTP6.x where the park factors seem to not work properly?

Nope, never run one. I do remember that their were some problems there, but it has always been recommended not to switch over an on-line league to a new version until it has been out for at least a week or so.

There is a very good reason for this. Care to guess?
