I'll definitely be needing the services of some of the lesser known Indian cards for this.
Hello Bill Wambsganss. You're now my second baseman. Last edited by gemini615; 11-19-2019 at 07:10 PM. |

Since I have no experience in cap, I threw together some garbage just to enter and be able to see what type of teams are winning the other tournaments

Do you play a few elite cards and throw in your iron filler?
Or try to even everything out with bronze and silvers? This tournament should reveal some winning blueprints no matter who gets the Pedro. |

Seems that I was about 12 hours late in noticing this. Ah, well. Can't join 'em all. Maybe I'll try to run rampant elsewhere with all the whale teams using a spot in this...

Logic says than the perfect-and-iron approach should beat a team of 65s. It shouldn't be a surprise because I firmly plan on carting up Big Walt and Lefty Grove in the first two games. They should out-duel a pair of bronzes 90% of the time.

No matter when we would have announced it, it would have filled within a couple of hours and people would have missed it. That's unfortunately the way it is, nothing we can do about it.

I never played a cap tournament before so I hope my roster is half decent. I know that my chances to win this one are tiiiiiiiiiiny but hey, it's still a pretty good lottery ticket

Crystal Ball predicts a winning team with an already Perfect rotation (and a bunch of Irons).
That's okay, the rich do tend to win riches in this universe. But I'll root for the extreme underdogs to win him, anyway. |

The all perfect rotation is a strategy but you are paying some heavy costs in your lineup. Sometimes when you have nothing but Aparicio/Lavalliere types you just don't score and even perfect Young can give up some runs against medium bats. With the new fatigue adjustment a 3-man rotation should not be good enough.

I certainly learned my lesson. I was running quick tournaments all day while trying to keep my eye on the Simmons and Pedro Tourney.
I am out in the cold though. I am glad to see these big tourneys filling up though. Good luck all who got in.

it would have been neat to see the tournament filled without whales (I consider myself one). Then the, arguably, the best card in the game would go up for auction (no BIN) with every whale looking to buy it. I think the Devs would have appreciated the extra PP purchases as we all positioned ourselves for him while one lucky tourney participant would net enough PP to build a great overall team.

But whales need love, too. I sold the only Perfect card I've ever pulled (deGrom), and the Gerrit Cole who "grew into" perfect, too. Pedro's an entirely different game from those scrubs, tho. |

Anyone else fired up for the Pedro tournament?
I'm looking forward to it although I am pretty sure I'll get bounced early.

Wanted to check who's in my corner of the tournament, but I can't make out the team logos from individual atoms of dust on my laptop. We need something better than the current display of the tournament tree for big (more than 32 teams) tournaments.
As inspiration, I saw on Wikipedia how they split the trees for tournaments like the US Open into four or even eight parts until the final rounds. There is room for tabs at the top of the screen. Split the tree into groups of 32, then transfer the final 16 or so teams onto the "final rounds" tab. Example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_U...en%27s_Singles

I set up my roster yesterday morning and then logged back in a couple times to make adjustments in the evening. I thought everything was good to go.
However, when I just logged in to see who I was matched up against, my roster had completely changed to a bunch of players I didn't pick or want. I'm glad I checked just now. If I'm going to get slaughtered, I want to get slaughtered with the choices I hand picked lol |

So at least this tournament is working! All daily tournaments have ceased working (or at least all three I have been involved in). This has been going on for hours. Thank goodness Pedro is not affected. All daily tournaments appear to sim, but they don't actually play any games. Quick tournaments are simming fine, too.
I posted in the perfect team bug forum, but so far no input from developers about what is going on.

Coons survive the first round in three games. Big Walt outlasted Ed Walsh in the opener before Brad ****ing Bergesen tossed TEN innings of 2-hit ball against the Critters until Ron Reed gave up a dinger to lose us that one, 1-0. Coons took apart Urban Shocker in the third game... a) Urban Shocker's on my team too ... and b) never mind we trailed 5-1 thanks to Jim Kaat being ... horse poo.
I have low confidence that the Critters will win anything, and even lower energy ... (it *is* 2:30 in the morning...). I will bow out and get some zzz. But if I do win, I intend to sell this one. I *have* an almost all-perfect rotation...
