Anyone for breakfast? According to the Red Sox radio feed that game lasted longer than the entire 1939 World Series

Breakfast sounds magical. It is now… going on 4:30 pm.

When is it too late to get a day started AT ALL?

I learned my lesson in 2005 White Sox @ Astros game 3 came home from work 8pm had 4 hours sleep watched the game which finished around 7.30am our time then went back to work for 8am. After that I used to book the World Series week off, now being retired no need to.

Yeah, I've been taking the World Series off since '12. Nobody around me has ever understood why, but … (sigh).

Another manager trying to outsmart the seams on the baseball with their bullpen management...

I hope he's losing himself millions by his play lately.

Maybe he's always been a douche bur since he was never on tv no one knew.

At the start of the post season I wanted the Cards to take a run at him over Harper. His punkness has me worried, I think fastballs with movement at his hands is in play.

Decided not to go for a second long night so woke up this morning and saw the score and was surprised to see how the game had panned out - weren't the Dodgers 58-0 or something in games they led by 4 runs at some point!

And I guessed right it was Machado being referred to up thread

I guess the one time he launched his bat at Josh Donaldson (long enough ago that Donaldson was with the A's then) was about the time he went from misunderstood kid to real ***hole. I increasingly despise him and his faux sad puppy look.

While Puig is a freak of nature and abomination in general - seriously, when he licks his tar-smeared bat I get the dry heaves - Machado actively tries to break peoples ankles and/or skull with intent. In soccer there's a red card for that.

Seriously, I kinda liked him initially, but that sure swung around massively. I felt bad when he blew out his knee hitting first base in... heaven knows when... right now someone could throw him a fastball at 98 in the eye and I wouldn't give a lick ... such a massive ****.

Can't speak to the Dodgers record, but prior to this game, Red Sox have played in 13 WS and had never come back from a 4 run deficit in any game.

Came back from a 3 run deficit in game 6, 75 vs Reds, down 6-3 and won on Fisk's homer in the 12th.

Fun fact - Of 23 runs scored by BoSox in the Series, 17 have come with 2 out.

I don't know whether Joe Kelly just fell asleep pitching, or whether that was me...

Not at all a fan of either team, if I would have rank my most despised it would be 1, Red Sox, 2, Cubs, 3, Dodgers, but I it was nice that the best team won.
The Red Sox were exactly that, from opening day, through the playoffs with in reality maybe only the Astros being in the same ballpark as them.
They deserved it. Congrats to them and their fans.
Now let's get on to 2019.

I know he is an all-time great and would probably be the starting center fielder on any all-time team.
But since when has the World Series MVP award been named for Willie Mays and why?
He played in four of them -- three with the Giants and one with the Mets, when he was well passed his prime -- and only won one.
That coming in 1954 when he hit .286 with no homers and three RBIs. Although his famous throw and catch and throw of a long fly ball hit by Vic Wertz to dead center of the Polo Grounds did occur in that series.
Wouldn't Yogi Berra, who ranks No. 1 by being part of 10 World Series championships, have been a better choice?
Berra, because he played in so many in the World Series, ranks near the top of many of the game's offensive categories.
