Bonds record falls
Anyone have a new a single season home run champ in their 2018 season start? Giancarlo just hit 75 in 2019 in my league. Crazy.

Not so far, even going back to OOTP Baseball 16.
I had a guy with 80 Home Run Power, etc. and he led the league in homers but the most I've ever seen him get was 70. It was Bo Jackson by the way in my historical league. |

Next is the inevitable steroids test and the ensuing controversy... that should be included in the game as a storyline if certain records are broken, lol.

Haven't yet seen the season record fall. Most I've seen was a 63 or 65 season.
But I did just have a guy set the career record in a carry over from OOTP '18 |

I am surprised some kind of drug suspension has not made it to the “in game”. There are players suspended when you start the game but maybe that’s to radical to have fake players suspended for drugs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm pretty sure that because OOTP now partners with MLB, drug suspensions are probably something MLB wouldn't like in a game with their permission to make. I think it's amazing there are even suspensions for fighting in the game. No other sports game that I know of has suspensions for anything. (Other then Football Manager for getting yellow/red cards but that's part of the actual rules.)

If you play a fictional league with a fictional league name (league is not named Major League Baseball) then you can enable drug suspensions. At least that's how it was in 18. I had named a league Major League Baseball and the option wasn't there. I then changed it to United States Baseball League and the option showed up.

Not single season record, but Giancarlo Stanton hit over 1000 career home runs before retiring at age 42 in my first run through on OOTP 19. Granted he wound up spending 9 years in Colorado averaging just shy of 60hr/yr after the Yankees traded him there after the 2018 season which certainly helped.

my record for one season is 82 and was done by a Yankee catcher I never would have expected to pull it off and especially done at the tail end of career. I had one player also (not my team) get 732 HRs but another on Colorado a few short of 700 and he is 34 and hopes his ratings don't collapses in hopes he breaks 764

In my historical replay beginning in 1961, I am in now 2016. Barry Bonds hit 808 homeruns in his career and Alex Rodriguez hit 801. And Mark McGwire has the four top single-season homerun totals with 75, 69, 68, and 67. McGwire ended up with 793 home runs in his career. He would’ve hit over 1000 homeruns if he had a career as long as Bonds or Rodriguez.

Not single season, but Stanton and Cody Bellinger broke the career HR record.
