Fictionalized Korean Teams
Always meant to do this, never got around to it. I found a huge cache of old press badges and I thought I'd do a large project with them. These aren't that fictionalized - the corporate names always bothered me. Hope these make your leagues a little weirder. If I think of any more original team names I'll also put them in this thread. The Korean text is just the city names copied from wikipedia, in this free font.

Incheon Landers
The real team just rebranded away from this logo this year - but I like it. Also if I can figure out how to do a good 50s pulp novel pastiche, you might see an Incheon Saucers
thats as far as I've gotten so far - five teams remaining, plus I'll dump further concepts in this thread if and when I think of them

Suwon Wizards
This one has the fortress tower from the emblem of Suwon.
It feels like every team in this league is red and black, I can go back and recolor them if there's interest

Suwon Wizards continued
These are based on the pin with Three Rivers Stadium and the others with local landmarks, like the one of LA City Hall. I feel like this tower really goes with the name Wizards.

Thanks guys more coming. Not sure what to do yet for Heroes, in particular.
I'd love it if someone wanted to make uniforms for these, I only make logos though currently.

Made some jerseys to use the Seoul Twins logos (I made them the Tygers though) Next post will have Hats and edited main logo. 20_Range your work is fire, loving these and a bunch of your other work in other threads. I'm turning the Volcanoes into a Tokyo team too.
(Edit: Man wish these didn't upload blurry, if you like them the caps and edited logo and fullsized files are here) Last edited by dasultant; 03-25-2024 at 05:26 PM. |

Thank you! Cool! It's great to see some uniforms. Any of my teams that you like, feel free
The Busan Seagulls version 1, Brighton and Hove Albion, but I feel like I can do better...

Busan Seagulls 2
Anyway, here is Boogi, the seagull mascot of the city of Busan, wearing the Brooklyn Dodgers 1953 press pin hat
I do lots of research

Would like to see many of the teams you've done or will do in this thread with variants using the prior official versions of certain Korean city names, if possible. For instance, Pusan in the place of Busan, even though I know that's not the official spelling of the city's name now, among others. But that sort of thing is entirely up to you here, of course, as always, 20_range. Please keep up the great work in your threads as best and as often as you can, I hope. Thank you. CD out.

Taking on badges for another culture is such a unique challenge and I applaud you taking it on! I've always felt a bit culturally clumsy when I tried to use my very basic Spanish and French skills to create Mexican, Central American, Quebecois, or Haitian badges. Not to mention the couple of times I tried to create a team in Japan or Taiwan.
Great work! Inspirational stuff my friend!

Thanks so much! I just rely on Wikipedia, and quickly abandoning ideas that seem wrong. If someone objected to one of my logos I'd quickly remove it.
It's been great having a closed project like this- reading about places I know nothing about. Maybe do a Honkbal or another country's league one day. You could pick one and try too - almost all the international leagues were removed from the game and I think people would use fictional ones. I use a bunch of tehsugi's teams for Japan. Really trying to come up with something for the Dinos so I don't just repeat your new Brontos logos

I think the challenge isn't creating something objectionable but more something some from that culture would look at and go "yeah, we'd never do that" lol. Or, alternately getting a translation really wrong. The research part is so much fun though! Dinosaurs are hard... I think I've gotten it wrong like 4 times and right once.

Korean Baseball Association 1
As Kevin was saying, this one is an attempt to make a league logo that might look plausible. It's based on the many KBO logos with centered italic names over ball roundels, plus the several Korean teams that have gradient letters, like these two I noticed. Korean text is the article title of the baseball article.
