Developing Goalies in Historical
New to the game and I'm playing a fantasy draft game starting in 1979-80. I'm into 1981-82 and have had Pelle Lindbergh on my reserve list since 1979-80 and he has stayed at half a star with 3.5 potential. He's only 22 but I'm starting to worry that he won't develop to near his potential. Is there something I should be doing to make sure his skills grow?

Looking at Lindbergh's data, I've got him set up in a way that will make his early development a little slower than average, even without the annual recalculation turned on (I think my justification was that, after the good rookie year, he had that really rough 83-84 season where he actually got sent to the AHL for a while, and had two bad playoffs in a row.) So he should start to pick up fairly soon, no need to get alarmed yet. If you want to try pushing it along a bit, you could call him up and give him all the coaching attention, but then you have to take a couple of other risks - that not playing him enough will hurt his development, but playing him too much (especially at a 0.5 star level) will be too much, too soon for him, and also impede development.
