I'm an idiot... ugh Please help.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question.

Can someone please help me figure out how to apply the files I get from ootpmods.com?

I just want the historical facegens and have a .tgz file that I don't know what to do with. Where do I move it and how do I update my game with it?

I have a headache from trying to find out where I should look for the instructions.

If you download the mods from Add-ons Central (from the start screen), you should be able to download them, then just press install within Add-on Central and it will put everything where it's supposed to be without you worrying about any of that.

As for updating your game, though, if possible, I'd start a new game after you download and install them. Otherwise you'll have to go player by player and update their picture in the editor to get the historical Facegen. Generally mods like pictures and Facegens and whatnot only automatically apply to new games.

Thanks for helping me. I will try that and let you know. My question concern there is that I need the logos and uniforms and caps from one Add-On source and the Facegen from others. You know what I mean?

Will that still work?

Yes just make sure once you go to Add-Ons Central you add ootpmods per this process. Once you do that you will be able to add anything from there or from the main OOTP server with no issues.

Using OOTPmods.com | OOTPmods.com

No problem. Yes. You should be able to download what you install and it'll put everything where it's supposed to be. Like Peregrine said, you need to add OOTPMods (Sorry I forgot that) and then search again for mods from without Add ons central and a bunch of them will pop up, including the ones you're looking for. With that installation, you might occasionally see a player Facegen that doesn't look right. That's usually because there are multiple players with that name and it chose the wrong one (Randy Johnson is a frequent victim of this.) You can use the editor to manually select the correct Facegen file in those cases.
