Editing players question

I am starting to go thru my 1976 historical season and add real players to the minor leagues

I am also bringing back retired players like Norm Angelini to the Braves....

What is the best practice for editing stats on created players and real players?

For instance I see resulting stats,,,do I edit those to suit what I think the player would do in the majors that year...or what his stats actually were in the minors that year...or should I just leave those alone?

Should I tweak ratings editor for hitters?

I definitely will tweak stamina as he is a 1 on here

Any help is appreciated (also, I am not going to import rosters and edit on excel- too much work for me-thanks)

Also.i just added Don Collins to the game...he will enter as a rookie in 1977 but he was on Richmond in 1976...I gave him his baseball reference lahman ID...is that the right thing to do or will that mess up when ootp brings him on as a historical rookie in 1977
