Not sure what your PP budget (or team idiom) is like, but I've had gold Johnny Pesky trained to play 2B for several seasons. He gets the job done although I think he starts out as a SS. Red Schoendienst is a switch hitter that usually goes for about 15-20K. Frankie Frisch comes cheaper than Pesky or Schoendienst. These options are excellent to elite defensively. If you just want decent, that expands your options considerably.

Jeff McNeil and Didi Gregorious aren't terrible LIVE options, although Didi would need training. I've seen a number of Wade Boggses deployed at 2B and that seems like a pretty good move--although the price for pretty much all Boggs cards has gone higher lately.

The team plays whatever it can find, no "theme" to it. Since it is the short end of a platoon, I would like to get away under 5k, but if it costs a bit more, it costs a bit more. But the market is so dry right now…

Game 3 of the sub-league series goes to the YakAnglers 3-2 behind a solid performance from Chris Short. Game 2 was close but we fell 8-7.

The Miners take Game 5 of the sub-league series 12-3 to go up 3-2 on the Naples RedLegs. Game 6 has 96 Johnny Vander Meer facing our 80 Tex Carleton.

A tale of two playoff teams for me today...

..Bob's Milwaukee All-Stars lost 3-2 in the DS, and will again stay in Bronze However, they played a great series against a 108 win team (we had 109), and whoever lost that would have been hard done by. They did hit 951 runs, by far the highest total I've ever had, and hopefully can keep that up

My All-NL/NeL Painter's Wife Islanders....*WON* their Diamond league Divsion Series 3-1, and are headed to Perfect! The very first team since PT began that I've got there, so I'm super happy with that achievement, regardless of how next season goes Currently tied 2-2 in their CS, I wouldn't say no to taking a title with me too

I was checking my league to see if my Catcher was playing about the right number of games (114), and indeed, most played a similar range.... except for one. One team played their Catcher Biz Mackey... *all* 162 games. At Catcher.

2nd most was 117

(edit: no other catcher on their roster, Biz is probably hibernating for the offseason)

So much for optimism. The Raccoons went down 4-1 to the Magpies. The last game was Keefe getting clubbed again and we lost by the same score, 9-8. So 10 years in perfect and 1 WS visit. At least we got lucky that year and won, but it would be nice to get a return trip some day. Oh well, there's always next year, starting tomorrow. Good luck to those who remain.

I'd convert a SS to 2b. Pesky for example.

The YakAnglers lose 7-3 in game 5 and now go back to the Glendale Liberty to face 99 deGrom. Not looking good but at least we've put up a fight.

On the brighter side the Miners advance to the Diamond .383 World Series by beating the Naples RedLegs 13-6 in game 6. We'll be facing the Lower Merion School Buses, who have yet to lose in the playoffs. The school buses have quite the roster, with 5 perfects and 12 diamonds.

Saints beat the super feisty Chico Bail Bondsman. There is a $1000 dollar starting pitching team lurking for the world series.

I start work at about 5:30am so I never get to watch the end of the playoffs. My Saints are squaring off against Long Beach in about 25 minutes. My 100 Clemens versus 100 Maddox.

It was exciting, but...

Game 1: Schilling leads 3-1 going into the 7th. Boggs single, Keeler single, Cobb HR... we lose 4-3. EXE leads 1-0.
Game 2: Hubbell pitches a 3-hit shutout and we win 2-0 on DiMaggio's 6th-inning HR. Series tied at 1.
Game 3: Sutter blows a 3-2 lead in the 8th and we lose 4-3 (winning run scores on a WP). EXE leads 2-1.
Game 4: Maddux has a terrible game to end his 18-game win streak. Mays goes 4-5 but we lose 7-6. EXE leads 3-1.
Game 5: We jump on perfect Cy for 5 early runs. Schilling allows 3 in 6 IP and we hold on to win 7-5. EXE leads 3-2.
Game 6: DiMaggio's 24-game hitting streak ended, and so did our season, 6-3. EXE wins series 4-2. Keeler MVP.

Sorry to hear that. Wee Willie is quite the player.

Sad Sam beats deGrom to force game 7 in the Gold .341 sub-series. Been one crazy and tough series.

Theme team makes I260 Iron Level Series!

The Suburban Sox won an amazing Sub-League Series game 7 with a run in the 9th to tie the game at 1 and then a walk-off grand slam by Tim Anderson in the 12th! Onto the Iron Level Series to face the Orleans Firebirds, who are a perfect 7-0 in the playoffs so far...

The YakAnglers win game 7 and advance to the Gold Series! Chris Short was solid for 6 IP, 3 ERs and the bullpen held on for a 6-3 win. Darin Erstad was voted MVP but my vote goes to Chris Short, who was 2-0. We now play the Washington Justice, who have no Perfects but are a solid and well built team from top to bottom. They led the league in wins with 102.

The Miners are tied at 1 in the Diamond .383 series. We lost game 1 4-3 in ten innings and won 5-3 in game 2 to give Lower Merion their first playoff loss.

I keep pulling for you to get your first title. It's got to happen eventually, right?! Sorry it didn't happen this season.

Sorry Orcin, I just lost the first game of the WS to Exeter. Probably going to give him the series sweep achievement.
