Goalie starts question

I read the info for latest update.
About the goalies I'm not sure about one point.

In Strategy/Goalie Starts you can set when your goalie will be played.

In Game/Game settings you can check/uncheck 'use goalie start settings'.
If you uncheck that what is used to determine goalie starts because the Goalie Start Settings will no longer be used apparently?

If it's unchecked, it'll revert to the system that was used prior to the update.

For AI teams as well? Just wondering because I've tried to compare the results with that box checked and unchecked and I noticed no difference at all. What I mean is the AI appears to use the new goalie usage system even with that box unchecked.

This is when playing unemployed and in commissioner mode.

It's a tendency to select the hot goalie, not an absolute rule. The higher that priority is set, and the bigger the heat difference between goalies, the more likely the AI is to choose the hotter goalie. In this case, though, the difference is very small - Pavelec is only a 1 to Hellebuyck's 0, so that won't override the other choices (unless they were all set to 0, and even then there's a small random element.)

Hey Jeff,

Is there someway to override the head coach if you are playing a sandbox game in "GM mode"? My manager has started the same goalie 88 games in a row, and I can't seem to edit the goalie start options, or even change the goalie from the pre game screen. Or am I stuck relying on the manager to make all decisions?

Not possible if you're playing GM-only, but I'd really like to have a look at that save if you can upload it - that should be impossible, given the way the backup frequency setting works. (Unless the game's year is set to something very early - if it's in, say, the 1930's, the starter is supposed to play every game.)

If you can talk me through it, I'd be happy to, as he's now up to 105 straight games and counting.

Markus has instructions for uploading to our ftp site here, or you can just put the save (zip/rar up the whole .lg folder with the save's name) on a file sharing site like filedropper.com or dropbox and send me the link.

Edit: actually, it's OK, I don't need the file, I just figured out how to replicate the problem myself. It looks like GM-only mode is breaking something with the way the AI chooses the starter priorities.

You guys are awesome.....Seriously, this kind of customer service is simply unheard of. This is why I keep buying from you and will continue to long into the future.

Edit: Will the change go into effect during whatever the next patch is, or is there another way to fix it now?

Not right now, unfortunately, but the guys fixed it today, so it'll work properly after the hotfix update that's coming very soon.
