2 new questions- Managers/Coaches & Service Time

1. Do historical coaches appear as they did in real life, or how would I get them to if not?

2. This goes back to my question yesterday about the player with the career ending injury.

So in the offseason I get to see upcoming eligible HOF players. I go to 5 years out and I do not see him listed as being eligible.

I am doing a semi historical league from 1871. He was an original 1871 player and played until halfway in 1881. That's 10 seasons. However the player page shows he has 9+ years of service time. Is this because the first few seasons were only 40-50 game seasons? He was never on the reserve roster/minor leagues, so should that even matter?

Also I thought I read an old post saying players from the inception draft of any league are not eligible. Is this still true in this version?

If his service time is under what it should be, is there a way to fix that without effecting when anyone becomes available for HOF eligibility? Right now no one has been eligible, which I've just attributed to I had to get to 1880 for anyone to have 10 years (I do have retired players). I assumed my guy would have been in the 1886 eligible list. He led the league in career batting average, games, hits, etc at the time of his injury that ended his career.

1. No, or not always. Sure you will have some leaders that turn into mgrs but you will have some guys who never managed becoming managers and sometimes you will have HOF MGRS who sit as FA MGRS for years as is the case with Leo Durocher in my ABF league who i made a MGR after he retired.

You may have needed to edit the service time per 1901 from 190 days or whatever the default is. Many pre 1901 players i have had to induct manually in various leagues. 1st year players are eligible for HOF depending on your setup and service time and how you change your league struture.
