Suspended player?

I had a player get suspended for 6 days. I can't call a minor leaguer up to fill his spot because the roster is full. Can't send him down without clearing waivers. Is there something I can do to get another player on the Major league roster, or do I just have to play a player short for the suspension time?

I'm pretty sure you just have to suck it up - but seems like for longer suspensions (like drug ones) there should be some option to put him off-roster in some way.

Do drug suspensions happen in the game? I haven't seen one yet in a total of 3 years of simming.

If you have drug suspensions turned on, yes they can happen. If you're playing the MLB quickstart or historical, no they can't happen

Is there an option to turn them on in an already existing sim? I started with "New Standard Game" and I've gone through all the options, but besides the "Enable Suspensions" option (which I've had on), I didn't come across anything for drug-related suspensions.

Does a new standard game use real MLB teams? If so, drug suspension aren't available. If you play completely fictional, yes you can turn them on mid season.

Interesting... are there any other options like that, that only are available to fictional leagues? I'm guessing this is something new in OOTP 16, related to the official MLB license?

Pretty sure it's just drug suspensions and it is new.
