Why Does AI Continuously Override Me?
So I'm brand new to this game, and absolutely loving it. I created an entire fictitious league, and am in my sixth season as a team manager. Lots of fun.
However, there is one massively infuriating part: even though I have ALL the control settings assigned to me, when I am done with all of my transactions, and have played the day's game, and click "Finish Today" - the AI moves people from AAA up to the majors and back, changes my starting rotation to its pre-conceived ideas, and rearranges my starting line-ups. This is maddening, and I can't find what setting I've gotten wrong. It's probably something obvious, but I'm just striking out here. Any thoughts? |

Probably a silly question first up: What are your settings on the below page?
Also, what level are you playing at? Top level, or managing in the minors?

Managing at the top level. I have everything set to me, except for the minor league signings/releases and the minor league lineups/depth/pitching.
I do have myself as a Spaniard, though... maybe that's the problem? |

Next possibly silly questions:
1) You are definitely in charge of a team? You can have commissioner powers, be unemployed and still be able to make changes to the teams. 2) Did you accidentally put yourself on vacation? 3) Have you tried putting all settings to you and simming a day?

Hmm. I think I'm in charge of the team. I'm not sure how to verify, but the team sent out a press release when I was hired, and I get emails from players and the owner about stuff. I also can't find a vacation setting.
Going to try the everything idea, and see if that helps at all. |

Do you have act as GM only checked?

I have none of the boxes checked. I have everything assigned to me, top to bottom. And it still does it. Clearly, I am missing something.

Ok, so I hadn't been to the front office screen before, but I found it, and apparently I wasn't the manager. I fired the manager, but can't figure out how to insert myself as the manager. Don't know if this matters. All I wanna do is build a team and play ball!

Still trying different things to no avail. Now it is moving players up and down as soon as I finish playing a game, without even finishing the day. I am confused.

Here is what you do.
Click the manager button at the top of the screen Select "Other Human Managers" Select "Add/Edit Managers" Select your manager You should have an option to "Select Team" If you do not, select "Play in Commissioner Mode" Select "OK" and then leave that screen. Now go back the same way. You should now be able to give yourself the job.

Why Does AI Continuously Override Me?
Clearly, the game's AI has taken lessons from Hal. "I'm sorry, StackOfOwls, but I'm afraid I can't do that." |

Then I went back to the front office screen, and the Manager job is still vacant, with me as the GM. I think at this point, I may have just corrupted some setting somewhere. I think I'm going to toss this entire league and start again, and see if the same thing occurs. And if it does, well, maybe it won't happen in OOTP16?? |

Can you post a screen shot? Does your team show as indicated.

I did take a screen shot, but can't get it to upload to my post. It looks exactly as yours.

Then by definition you are the manager.

Thanks everyone for all the input. Helped me know I wasn't cracked up, and something must have been corrupted with the game file. I started a new game, and it's working fine.

It's pretty disappointing that you can't post screenshots. I'm unable to understand what exactly what was wrong with your league.
