Can trading between AI teams be turned off?
I want to mirror the real life trades and NOT have the AI doing trades on their own. Is there a way to turn off AI trading and make it so that I can do the trading?

I'd say you have two options, both in Game Settings, League Settings. First, under Rules, you can turn off trading altogether. Second, if you are playing a true historical replay, you can choose to use real historical transactions under Historical (I assume that includes historical trades). See the two screen prints below.

I'm actually just interested in doing this season with multiple teams. From what you're saying, I'll have to turn off trading entirely? I can't just manage the trading between clubs?

I'll let someone come in and confirm but I believe you can turn off trading, but then use commissioner mode to do whatever trades you want

you can turn off trading between teams then act as for a team and then force a trade.

I'm still confused on this. If I am doing a season, not a historical one, but I want to stop the AI from doing its moronic (and I do mean MORONIC) trading, how do I do it? How do you do the "commissioner mode"?

Another question, is there some type of current to this date roster file that can be downloaded and has all the roster moves as of this date (or something relatively close)?

Not that I know of. There is usually an All Star roster update, I do not know anything about the status of it.

Try turning off trading after you go into Commissioner Mode.

Yeah, I can do that, but it means I can't trade either and part of my goal is recreating the 2014 MLB season, which includes trades. Surely we can just turn off the AI trading somewhere, yet still be able to force human controlled trades.

No reason for the "duh", I'm just trying to find a solution in a setting, so that I don't have to go back and forth like that. I apologize if my question bothered anyone, I'm new to the game.

I just don't see the need in acting like I'm stupid. I understand that it just takes a second sir, but as I said, I was trying to find a "universal setting" that simply turned off AI trading. For all the amazing features the game has, it's kind of surprising it is missing something like that.
Nevertheless, thank you for the input and I guess I will just make a suggestion to the developers since there doesn't seem to be a way of stopping AI trading without stopping it for me also. Last edited by jblank; 07-11-2014 at 04:43 PM. |

At this point, I think you're just looking to argue, and I have no interest in doing that. Thank you for the input on my post.
