Bench players not starting for tired 6/1

Watching games today and enjoying a pennant race, I noticed that my starters are starting every day even if roasted. None of my "start if tired" players are coming in for relief and my catcher and others keep playing every day even when exhausted. Looking at opponents rosters, it seems I'm not alone.

In my experience if you choose "start when tired" the game will wait until your starters are "dead red" before using the backup. Meaning an empty battery animation next to the player. Try using start every 15 or 20 games if you're worried they'll start too Much.
