Maybe, but I bet I have more posts here than him. That makes me a local treasure, no?

I think I recall a political candidate in Michigan who had that name. Oddly, his campaign died out.

Ba dum dum tsh! Post-mortems determined that his campaign was still-born. He was a dead duck to begin with and never had a chance to become a lame duck. Not to beat a dead horse, but this guy was no dark horse.

Shall I continue?

Geez, you guys, I mentioned that guy in Michigan on the seventh post of page 1. Some people are so slow on the uptake, you'd think they were dead.

Yes, Ranger was a bit "post-humous" there. Get it? POST-humous?

Ah me. I slay myself. Heh.

Say, I was thinking, though. Did one of you guys, or OOTPD, hack into my game somehow and plant this "Bruce Posthumus" as a death threat, a warning of some kind?

Wolf, was it you because I don't play stats-only?!?
Yes, Bruce, it was me. You don't play stats-only, so the Grim Reaper, who does, will be dropping by to discuss the matter with you some random evening between 2 and 5 AM. You got me, I totally confess.

That's Eastern Daylight Time, correct? I want to set my clock and I need to tell the exorcist what time to be here.

Now, that's a low blow! It also makes me suspect that you can indeed see what's going on in my league. How else would you know about those back-to-back last place finishes?

Heh, well now they do! [A separate thread to come, perhaps, on how difficult this game has become in recent years, or is it just me? (Seriously.) It used to be that I would dominate with little effort but now, when things go against me, I cannot turn it around even "trying like heck." I think this "smarter, more cunning AI" may have something to it. Like, coaching being rigged in that the AI sees their ratings while humans go by nonsense when recruiting. Good players coming to human teams, tanking, being cut or traded, and then experiencing a "bounce" in their performances as if, once released from the yoke of being a human manager's player, they need to move back to their mean. Things like that.]

Wow. Totally metaphysical, dude.
Well, ten "years" later or so (I forgot to check on him for a while), he has disappeared. Poof. Apparently he never made it to the majors and the game deleted him.

I was kind of hoping that he would have been recycled AND still be on my shortlist in another persona. The game will reuse his player ID, I assume, but the link to his "essence" in my shortlist is gone, and so is Mr. Bruce Posthumus.

Too bad. I wanted to believe in reincarnation!
