how to play on multiple computers
Hello all. I'm still relatively new to OOTP but am loving every minute of it.
I've always played on my laptop, but recently got a brand new desktop for my home office and would like to add OOTP to the computer here. I'm fine paying for another version of the game. Does anyone have advice on how to seamlessly play between my two machines? The desktop when I'm here in the office and the laptop when I'm on the road so that I can continue to play the same game no matter where I am. Thanks!! |

I just keep my leagues and league backup files on a USB drive. Works fine.

Due to spend quite a bit of time on the road the next few weeks, I was hoping to take my OOTP game with me, transferring it from my desktop to laptop.
However, in numerous attempts to put the backup of the league onto a flash drive it starts moving over files and after 30 seconds or so, it just stops and I get a not responding message. I am no computer genius, but is this something that I can solve? |

I play from my hotel room on my main computer at home. No muss no fuss.

You can probably just transfer the files directly from one computer to the other over your home network. I, too have a desktop and a laptop and when I'm at home I just keep my league on the desktop and use Steam's Stream function to play on the laptop if I want to be in another room of the house. When I'm going on a trip I transfer the league folder directly to the laptop over the home network. No USB required, although there's really no reason that shouldn't work unless there's something wrong with the USB drive. I've said before, It'd be great if OOTP could be made to recognize network locations so we could keep the data folder on a cloud drive or something. I can also see why the devs may not want to do that. We'll see if anything ever comes of this.

I figured out how to moved my saved games over, but how about the game itself.
I no longer have the email which contained the license that would allow me to install it on the second computer. Last edited by rink23; 06-06-2016 at 05:01 PM. |

Just send a request to the developers. I'm sure they'll send you the necessary info.
