How Do I Sign Player Fro Minors?
My own minor team signed a goalie (AHL) whos rights are with KHL. I want to bring him up but cant, wont let me.. also want to extend contract but wont let me.
How do I do this? There is another goalie on a different AHL team, not my affiliate, how can I trade for him? I cant seem to do it through his NHL team Apparently says for both guys "You dont own league rights" Last edited by Gagnon30; 05-04-2015 at 05:23 PM. |

If the Ahl team signed him, then he is under contract with them, not you, and therefore cannot be called up.
If the other goalie is under an AHL contract with the other team, he isn't under contract with the NHL team, therefore cannot be traded. |

In addition, players contracted in the KHL (russia) has to have their full contract expire before you can sign them. As per the NHL/KHL agreement.
Also If a goalie is under an AHL contract, and an NHL team has his rights you can trade. Find the team that has his rights and make sure you switch the tab from players to rights. If no NHL team holds his rights you can sign him. Here you do not have to wait for his contract to expire.
