Noob and overwhelmed!! :)

In this case quite happy to be overwhelmed!!

Not wanting to bog you with questions as a lot of threads have answered my questions. One thing I thought I read but not sure about that.

I have started a fictional league. I want to manage my Rookie League minor. I know how to do this, questions is. Will I earn promotions to the higher leagues? Or will I have to promote myself?

If you are successful, you should be offered a promotion elsewhere. However, my understanding (I haven't tried it yet myself) is that it takes time to get there, so if you want to move up faster, you'll need to do it artificially.

Also, keep in mind if you are managing at that low level, you're at the mercy of the GM of the parent club, who may give you crap to work with.

Have fun and good luck!

Good deal, thanks for information. Ya, I want to be on the hot seat hehe. I was hoping that would be the case.

Oh, you will be, all right. If it gets frustrating, use the option in your Manager Menu to "not be fired."

One thing to be aware of.. in OOTP when you manage at the minor league level, you are at the mercy of the GM regarding promotions/demotions to higher/lower level clubs in the team's farm system. And those promotions/demotions are done at least every few weeks for the entire season, and typically at the most inopportune moments.

I'm not trying to get you to not play as a minor league manager.. I did it a lot myself when I first got this game to try to simplify things and learn the lessons about how to manage your bullpen, starting rotation, and lineups.. but it *can* be frustrating after the the incredible number of seemingly random promotions/demotions.

If I had a boss like that in real life.. I'd change jobs!
