Just a reminder, making your own FaceGen is super easy!

Why have some ugly computer guy's mug as yourself when you can be you! Much like others I was wondering how hard it was, but it turns out making your own facegen is easy as pie. Really the only thing you need, especially for an OOTP facegen, is a headshot photo of yourself. Then using the facegen non-commerical program, it asks you to click on various parts of your face, and then BOOM instant face gen!

For example here's me.

And while I'm not posting the image used to make it for obvious reasons, I can say it's a great fascimilie.

You want to use this link and download the artist demo. It's free to use and the only caveat is it stamps a big logo on the forehead, but this logo is under where the cap would be, so it doens't matter for OOTP.

Yeah, you can do just about anything with facegen. The initial conversion can be rough, but you can tweak a gazillion settings from there

Results may vary

I was a history major before changing my major at the last minute. I made some historical characters in OOTP. If anyone wants the .fg file let me know.

First, the greatest general maybe ever, Alexander the Great of the Argead dynasty, who conquered all of Persia. He conquered 2,180,000 square miles, second most in history to Genghis' 4,860,000. In his most famous battle Alexander defeated an army of 300,000 (an ridiculous army size unheard of until Napoleon's time) with an army of 40,000.

Secondly, the most famous general in history, Napoleon, who requires no explanation. I believe we are all aware of his feats and his downfall.

Size: 43.4 KB

Lastly, the man who defeated Napoleon at Waterloo with the help of Prussia hussar general, Gebhard von Bucher. The Iron Duke of Wellington, Arthur Wellesley. I've actually seen the house he resided in.

Why FaceGen when you just upload a real photo? FaceGen is too cartoonish when the whole idea is realism

I respectfully disagree.

A real photo can't age, or grow facial hair, or change clothes...

I don't find them "too cartoony" at all, especially when the entire world is uniformly using the same style.

The best part of this game is all the options we have and the ability to play the way that makes each of us happy. If I had to use photos I probably never would've bought the game in the first place. FaceGen has personality, while a photo is a moment frozen in time...just my opinion anyway.

Okay, I always thought the FaceGen idea was a neat concept, but was prefering to use photo headshots for all my players instead. Then I found this post and started playing with the app to create a FaceGen for myself and now I'm hooked. I've started creating FaceGens for all the teams as I face them in my franchises now.

I know that there are tons that are already created by others, but I think I'm a bit of a control freak and like creating them on my own, and it helps me get familiar with the players more, checking out their histories while waiting for the FaceGen to build. Thanks, Silent_Thunder, for making me a new believer in FaceGen.

I am finding it harder than Pie to go from a headshot to using a FG file in the game myself

Well, if you add a hundred pounds or so.

Also of all the celebs to look like, I get Fallon? Par for the course with my luck I suppose.

But the free version of FaceGen generates the "FG" text on the forehead... :-(

I was under the impression that even if the facegen has hair, it would lose it when imported into OOTP. I have free version 3.5. It has a few hair options. They don't carry over into OOTP for me. Also, I did some with players who have sunglasses. They looked great. Came out nice. When I imported them into OOTP, the eyeballs popped through the sunglasses with a black circle around them. Scary looking to say the least. hahahaha Walking dead.

Uh, no. You mean Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher, and he wasn't Prussian: he was from Mecklenburg-Schwerin. He was in the Prussian Army only because he had been a hussar in the Swedish Army who had changed sides after being captured; he was no more a Prussian than I am.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.
